its free and it lets you play a warhammer fantasy-like strategy game. I bought the chaos faction because im bound to by a ruinous pact with tzeentch years ago but you dont have to! I think it may have a lack of replay value in some ways and the dev could implement a combat autowin mechanic for when you have a unit wiped out already but overal very solid 3/5 going to a 4 because its free.

im liking this because too many people are disliking it for nonsense reasons. the game is fine, its not particularly complex but i do like the progression mechanics. solid 3/5 so far

fair warning, this game is incomplete. that shouldnt be surprising given it is early access, and given how good my experience has been with it so far I think its fair to say weve got something special on our hands here. If you are willing to put up with some jank and be contributory to the devs work on this game while enjoying a fairly complex medieval city builder with combat elements $30 is an incredibly fair price, and while I would be hard pressed to say $40 is fair in its current state im sure that people who enjoy things like against the storm, banished, and other things of the like will love this in time. im dropping a recommend on the game contingent on future updates to fix some issues I observed.

issues for the devs to consider:
1. sometimes units in the combat system run off in the opposite direction for seemingly no reason, i think it has something to do with the games pathing and incorrectly placing units, it doesnt happen that often but ive experienced it primarily with the polearm infantry.
2. archers are insanely weak, they need to have a buff against lightly armored units or something.
3. some tool tips would be really nice to explain the differences between the ox and horse, i really dont know what the horse is/can be used for.
4. i think the influence system may need some tweeks, the AI rushes raider camps often before you can have a chance to effectively deploy your forces and this results in the AI being able to expand WAY faster than the player can. perhaps you could implement a system to increase territory claim costs based on how fast you are taking them? ie if you just claimed a territory there is a 50% influence cost with a monthly decay rate?
5. some information on resource rate usage would be helpful for city planning, knowing how much food and firewood per month is being used could be really helpful in optimizing a settlement.
6. during wars of contested regions I have found that sometimes its confusing to identify which region I am supposed to be fighting in, during a conflict adding a highlight to the region being fought over would be a really nice quality of life addition.
7. i had an instance where my military did not fight the invader and they did not fight me, it lead to me loosing a territory and i really dont understand why. it may have something to do with the negotiation system that is currently being worked on but im not sure. i tried disbanding and reforming my army to see if that fixed it and it didnt work.
8. settlements may benefit from being slightly less expensive, 250 is a steep price with the current tax system unless you are aiming for midgame expansion. if thats the case then you should probably improve the ability to tax as the current scheme really incentives building tall settlements before expansion. If you are wanting to incentivize earlier expansion you may want to decrease the cost of the initial settlement and have each subsequent settlement cost more, alternatively the farther the settlement is from your starting territory the more it could be made to cost.

what if satisfactory was on an interstellar scale, if you have weaponized autism like me youll fall in love immediately and for an easy 200+ hours. it runs like a dream, just got an update with enemies (that granted could be improved by changing it to an RTS like experience imo), and presents a scale beyond anything ive seen before. 5/5

i like the rework for leaders and it gives you choices over leader progression. my only ask for DLC is that it substantially changes or adds a system to the game. this DLC does both those things however it may be overpriced depending on how much you like the base game. well worth $10 if you can get it on sale, otherwise $15 isnt bad if you want to increase system complexity.

it doesnt add much if anything, yes it includes new story material and some relics however those things can be acquired for free using mods. no new functionality besides a new resources which is fine, i guess. would have been great if they added new functionality like being able to actually explore a subspace dimension. thinking about it now why not rework wormholes to be astral rifts and be able to control inter-wormhole space lanes?
