Rules are simple enough and understandable, all the satisfaction of rolling tens of dice and none of the hassle of number crunching and measurement. and it's free.

Even though its not central to gameplay the lack of real art irks me. I didn't consciously notice it at first, it just felt.. mid I guess, once you see it you can't unsee it. The AI art makes pictures that are both generic over-complicated, with nonsensical armor ornamentation. If they got an artist to do the pictures they could make the units really feel unique, and maybe add a feeling of diversity to the hero selection. Real art would make it feel more like a tabletop game with hand painted models, maybe they could add some small bits of unit customization to show off in multiplayer.

All in all, pretty good. I'd be much more willing to pay for the DLC factions if they had real artists do the pictures though.

I can not recommend this in it's current form. It has charm to it, but it lacks in one aspect which I think should be very basic.

Whenever you try out the game you get 2 or 3 tutorial popups that do not explain anything useful to you. It does not show you how to check enemies's range nor how to rotate your unit ( second thing does get shown halfway into your first campaign where I assume you are like me and looked it up because you had no idea how to rotate it) .

You can not check what unit you select and what they do . No stat description, no passive description in game. Every time you want information you have to look for it on the site which most of the time doesn't even have it.

So its free, its fun and I would like to know if there will be sequel?
So less of a review more constructive fed back for a future patch or potential things that I would include for a 2nd pass at this.

2 acts isn't enuff its needs 3 and some more variety for the non battle related events, Some were really good some were very naff (the dungeon one for instance)|

Assuming this rules system is based on what I think it is then it has some crucial factors missing such as charge reaction. The ability to chose to flee, or stand and fire if you are a range unit.
Fast reform options for fast cavalry and possibly other units with upgrades (musician)
More pop up explanations of rules concepts and options to undo choices would be nice and being able to see enemy charge arcs.
Counter charging as it stands seems a little janky and I had 1 crash bug when I tried to force a unit in a position the game did like.

More powerful spell options with more special effects! (make them look cool and powerful!)
More achievements for fun stuff eg. charge a unit from all 4 sides during a turn of combat, or how about completely destroy a unit only using range weapons or artillery?

Finally your DLC policy seems to be very similar to how most games from a certain model company are done.... Thats maybe not the optimal way to do it but then I don't know what it.
Id like to think this game is still early acess and would be happy to pay up to the £20 mark for a completed version with more acts in main single player.

also the MP option is AWESOME and has great potential but needs to be way better supported. I personally think you maybe on to the next "blood bowl" with this game but done better and with more love. Maybe focus hard in to the MP as the core going forward?

Let me reiterate great game loved it. Would have payed for it (may consider DLC for a more fleshed out main game). I can feel this is a labour of love and hope you continue with it.

So whats it to be sequel or further iteration on this game?
