Pros:
1. the single player mode is excellent, character developments are great, each characters are unique, almost all the campaign missions are very fun.

2. lots of stuff to do in single player, many side missions, most of them are pretty fun.

3. lots of properties and cars you can own, very nice looking, tons of customization.

4. you can go to strip club and see boobs.

Cons:
Most of the cons are mainly for online content
1. connection sucks. ever since the import export DLC update, i have been experiencing constant connection issues. i opened all the ports R* tell us to open, and turn off all the fire walls when playing game, still constantly DC from session. currently i still cannot find a way to cure this problem. and based on xfinity speed test, i have over 260MB/S download and 70MB/S upload.

2. online session is full of hackers, modders and trolls
because the server is peer to peer, and there is no administration in a session, therefore it is very hard to control hackers. there was a big ban wave during Christmas, but now the hackers are reappearing. hackers controlling your cars and crash you to death. modders spawning tanks and jets in the city and blow you up just for fun. and trolls that had nothing else to do but do everything they can to stop you from finish your missions.

3. online items are ridiculously expensive
if you want to play online, get ready for a grind fest. a mask which cost 35 in game credits in the single player mode, all of a sudden cost you over 10K in online session. i understand that a mask is not a essential item, but this price is a little bit ridiculous.

4. it gets repetitive
at first you think the online session is fun, because there are so many things to do, all the different races, all the different heist, all the different mission and etc. but soon, you realize the only way that can give you guaranteed money income is heist. because in heist people can't rob you, and there is no friendly fire. and after the heists it only takes seconds to put the money into your bank account. doing heist is currently the most secure way to get income if you want to buy a big ticket item such as a luxury condo or a brand new super car. Or you can do the missions that R* had created, however, the highest paid mission Roof Top Rumble only gives you 13500 in 4 mins. so if you want 1 million which is nothing, you need to grind the same mission 100 times. unless you are a high level player who already has a ton money saved up, at the beginning, you really need to grind these missions in order to get what you want.

5. import export DLC
the new DLC brought in a lot of content but also trouble. when you are importing and exporting any goods or cars, people can come kill you and steal your stuff. i know this is GTA, you are suppose to be killing, and causing mayhem, but that creates a problem, and the problem is, you have to have people to play with you in order to protect you during transportation. in reality, if you are a real mafia, you will never let anyone know what, where, and when you are trafficking you products. but this is 1 way that R* use to make your life difficult, so they can force people to buy their crappy shark cards. so for people who don't have lots of friends to play with, all of a sudden, import and export doesn't sound all that effective.

5. import export is not for everyone
import export DLC requires gigantic upfront cost, you need 1 million to purchase the cheapest office, YES the CHEAPEST office, but the good thing is despite their price, all the offices have the same function. then you will need to buy a dedicated car warehouse to store all the cars you have stolen, and the cheapest warehouse is 2.3 million. so in total you need to have 3.3 million just that you can start import and export. and each top range car you sell will only net you 80K, because you need to spend 20K just to modify the car, and the final pay out is 100K. that's assuming your car take absolutely 0 damage during transportation, which a lot of time it will be impossible, because there will be other players who will try to destroy your car or steal it from you. so assuming you do everything perfectly, you still need whopping 40 top range car to recover the initial cost, and only after that it is pure profit.

Conclusion
R* pretty much made this game in the way that you have to play online, because the single player content is not enough, the missions are pretty short, and after you play couple of times you get tired of it. the only way to find new fun is to play online. but as you can see there are lots of problems when play online. I'm not saying online is worthless, trust me I do have some fun when playing online. but it's just that the cons outweigh the pros.
