Even before being fully released, this game is an inspiration for small devs for it's strong and simple design.

Why is this game so damn fun

Absolutely phenomenal. Fresh, delightful, challenging, smart. Comparisons: Dark Souls level design, Outer Wilds in that player knowledge leads can be a gate, The Witness (funnily enough), Hollow Knight, (obviously) Zelda.

Absolutely stunning, clever, and charming. It's hands-off approach to exploration allows the player to become naturally invested. Bold, gorgeous, and well-put, it also has a beginning that got me giddy during the first hour while thinking of the possibilities awaiting in this game. Sticks the landing in an amazing end, and the middle will be each person's own, unique, adventure.

You'll know if you'll like this game within the Steam refund-period, so I implore you to try this one out. It's as good as they say.

This is an interactive sight-seeing tour, and it is very good at what it does for being made by one person.

Amp up the difficulty to get the most out of this game. Story is alright, lore is better, gameplay top-notch. Recommend getting the DLC on sale, but they are a must. At their worst, it feels like more DOOM; at their best, the base game feels like a tutorial and this is where the real game starts.

Fun with or without friends for people who like shooters and mining and hats and guns and beards.

I would like to give the game a thumbs up. Gameplay is serviceable, though has a lack of different possible builds for a 4x. I can understand this though, as it is focused on "only war." I can imagine it being really fun as a multiplayer game, where the lack of different ways to win could be counter-balanced with (hopefully) smart opponents pressuring you.

What I do find egregious is the dlc. Faction packs are alright, though I would've put them at 10€. But I started questioning the developer's/publisher's motives when it would seem that there is cut content as part of the base game. I'm talking about the fact that you have a technology tree, with locked technologies that require the Reinforcement Pack dlc to be able to research them, one for each faction and one neutral. For 4€, you can get a whole 5 units!

I was rather disappointed when I found out that I could not field Necron Immortals without spending another few bucks. Or get a Land Raider as Space Marines. Land Raiders are the eponymous battle tank for the SM's, while Immortals are one of the only two basic infantry units available for the Necrons. If you want to make a 4x focused heavily on eXtermination, why would you limit the options for that in such a clear, greedy way? At least you could've removed them and the tech affecting only them from the tech tree.

I don't know, I just wasn't impressed. If you can get it on a hefty sale and have friends who play it, it's worth it. Right now I just found it lacking in depth to keep playing beyond these hours.
