Let me start by giving my PC specs, something anyone should do when their review even slightly talks about performance

outside of towns, in the areas where FPS actually matters, this game runs at a constant 60fps for me, at max settings with raytracing enabled and DLSS disabled.

now that thats out of the way, the microtransactions are blown way out of proportion by other negative reviewers, ALL items from the 3rd dlc slot downwards can be obtained in game, and VERY easily at that. within an hour of playing the game i had already accrued 2 wakestones, and upon reaching the very first town you can buy the titular character respec item for a measely 500 RC, a currency that is obtained in game by literally just playing the game, and can even accrue idly in the background when another player recruits your pawn. the PortCrystal you can purchase, despite the outright lies of many, is not "paywalled fast travel". rather it is another item which you can not only find or purchase in game, but also exist as waypoints in every major city. in fact they are not even the actual item you use to teleport, they are instead what you teleport to, Ferrystones are the item which actually transports you to a PortCrystal, of which the ONLY way to obtain Ferrystones is to purchase them for 10k gold at a general store in game, or find them in chests throughout the world.

I am not defending the MTX, i find the inclusion of it to be obscenely stupid, however i find people spreading blatantly false information about item availability online to be even more stupid. I also find it odd that people call out and review bomb this game for it, while not even so much as bringing it up when other popular games do the same. DMC5, Tales of Arise, MHW and Granblue fantasy relink ALL had the same issue of completely pointless MTX that nobody actually buys being on the store page, and yet NOBODY cared when it came to those games.

Aside from the stupid criticism the game is receiving, the game itself is fantastic. the combat is thrilling, best ive seen in any game, fighting a hord of goblins only to have an ogre dropkick you into a wall from out of a bush, then a griffon swoop down from the skies and pick a fight with said ogre is some of the most fun ive had in any game.

Received as a gift, meant for some nice coop fun with a friend but its hard to enjoy when every enemy of an untrained terrorist group who fires LMGs literally from the hip are insane crack shots who will head shot instakill you the millisecond you round a corner with barely enough time to react.

Not to mention the fact that when you and your coop partner both die you are forced to completely reload the level, which even if both of you are running the game out of an SSD can take over a minute. and once you have loaded in you have to watch the same intro cutscene you've already seen hundreds of times.

The "training" if you can even call it that, isnt training, it teaches nothing, just drops you into a house with targets and tells you to shoot them, doesnt explain how to actually aim your weapon (its weird you have to hold right click THEN scroll up to actually use the sights) nor does it explain how to heal yourself or allies when injured.

on the bright side, the visuals and audio in this game are insane, genuine acomplishments that deserve praise. its just hard to properly experience them when you get domed 3 seconds after a mission starts by some untrained insurgent 400 meters away whos firing an LMG from the hip.

Overall in its current state i cannot recommend the game. i understand that its in early access but on steam that title means basically nothing. the game is charging money and should be in a state where the player feels like they get what they paid for

Can't boot up the game, it crashes every time right after the opening art showing Magnamalo and Malzeno, during the "health warning" screen. showing the Capcom crash report pop up. i've tried verifying game files and restarting my computer, nothing. Capcom support literally wont allow me to submit a report so they are completely useless. it's not an issue with my computer, as i had literally just played the game this morning before Sunbreak's release just fine, however as soon as sunbreak was installed it broke

EDIT: after completely reinstalling my game, it finally is working correctly, and the expansion has so far been fun, its upsetting that it was an issue to begin with, and my gripes with the support system still stand, but at least i can play
