pros:
things to chase - minor "grind" in mmo terms
mechanically shooter first rpg second
the smoothest gun play ive ever played (and ive played alot of games)
build crafting "rpg" continues evolving
great pve and pvp multiplayer
raids, need i say more
great environments
story/lore is great

cons:
connections can be spotty at times
if you dont like grinding, its here though not as bad as mmos typically per chase
yearly fomo seasonal content goes away at the launch of next expansion
yearly dlc content purchase requirements to stay current

i recommend you try the f2p method to see if you like the game then if you do pick up all the main expansions during a sale that tens to happen ever season
if you want a reccomend content dlc list it would be below

Destiny 2: Legacy Collection
Destiny 2: Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack
Destiny 2: The Witch Queen
Destiny 2: Lightfall + Annual Pass (includes all the lightfall seasons and dungeon pass) so you will be good for a year dlc wise

this is written a week before Lightfall as such its a great time to get into destiny 2
final note compared to most mmo style games destiny 2 is more affordable if your going to main the game
for comparison World of Warcraft charge around $180 yearly for subscription and $50 for bi yearly expansions compared to destiny 2's $100 (as of writing)

this game has a great community and if this game sounds like your kind of game i hope to see you there
