Feels a bit like Terraria and Rimworld had smexy time. While low graphics the game is quite well designed and once you understand it the villager automation is top in class. Very happy with my purchase indeed.

Act 1 and 2 are an 11/10 setting a new bar for CRPG even with strong competition like Shadowrun Returns, Wasteland 3, Solsata, etc. I could gush about how good it is, but I'll just leave it at that.

Unfortunately Act 3 takes all that good will and then tries to tear it all down and is several steps down in almost every way, feeling more like a 6/10 or 7/10. Bugs, continuity, mechanics, consistency, balance, crashing, forgetting your actions, aggroing you through solid walls, dragging on forever, poor level design, etc. Act 3 still has some really strong parts in it, but other parts were so frustrating or buggy or ignoring our actions it made some of my friends almost want to uninstall.

A flawed masterpiece that no doubt will inevitably be polished up.

It's Fallout in a Space based setting, not a space sim. Which is exactly what I expected from Bethesda and is how they marketed it. It's no revolutionary game, it's not a 10/10, and it definitely needs optimization....but it's solid and fun. The video game equivalent of a restaurant buffet. Nothing is top tier or is really going to impress you but you get a craptop of pretty good for your money and hits the spot in just the right way that has you keep coming back to play a little more.

So despite not really breaking any new ground or setting any bars I can definitely see this being a game people play for hundreds of hours. And the foundation built is ripe for expansion with mods. Basically: It's a Bethesda game...WTF else did you expect out of it?

My one real complaint is that the optimization needs work.

As someone who was super excited to FINALLY see another Armored Core game after 10 years. with the only modern alternatives being Mass Builder or Daemon X Machine I was ready for this game. I could not be sadder that I've since refunded it.

AC 6 is alot like Final Fantasy 7 Remake. It both IS and IS NOT an Armored Core game the same way FF7 Remake both is and is not a Remake of FF7. The trappings are there, the asthetics are there, alot of what would be considered...ahem...CORE is there. But the gameplay and balance is incredibly changed.

Old School Armored core had a ton of build variety and mission difficulty was usually about attrition wearing away your AP and ammo across the entirety of the level from many enemies of different strengths and types. And the sometimes moderately challenging boss battles and ACs who fought like you did.

AC 6 feels more like Armored Core and Seikiro had a baby and then it was raised by Seikiro. It's very twitchy, your AC is extremely fragile, and you can die in seconds from normal boss attacks (not even the hard hitting ones). Instead of dodge roll or parry you ahe quick boost which will be used ALOT, many times back to back. Ranged weapons feel nerfed in comparison to the old games and melee is very strong and in fact the first boss in the game (which is relatively hard and happens BEFORE the tutorial missions) is a HELICOPTER that is about 50 times easier to kill by chasing it down with a laser sword than it is to fight at range simply because your range does F all for damage and the laser sword chunks it heavily.

One of the saddest things about being an older gamer is watching all my old beloved franchises fall from grace 1 by 1. Today I sadly add Armored Core to that pile.

This is a solid turn based tactical RPG heavily inspired by Final Fantasy Tactics. I definitely recommend it at either the list price or even better on sale. Its not gonna blow your socks off, but its solid and enjoyable. However I DO really recommend gamepad as the keyboard controls are not great and mouse is not supported, which it DOES say on the main page under system requirements.

The story really hasn't grabbed me and the characters are ok, if you're looking for those then I can't reccomend, but im here for the strategy RPG fights and Cross Tails delivers that pretty solidly.


A couple of the negative reviews confuse me though. 1 claims to have hit level 99 and talks about having played all the classes but only has 10 hours. This is not enough time to have possibly done that. I'm at 18 hours with character around level 30 and there are still many classes I have not even tried, much less had a few battles to get used to. Also some class combinations fare better than others. Given that they were failing to see any value from tanks I can only assume they had minimal experience with the game since a properly buffed and supported tank is very durable....though not invulnerable.

Likewise another review claims you can only death ball and single target focus...and that's not true even with the basic classes as even basic knights and archers get very effective multi-target and debuffing abilities. Much less many of the wide reaching attacks/buffs/debuffs available from some of the different classes. But ofc, running 2 people into a group of 6 enemies is still a terrible idea in most cases.

Neither of those negative reviews is even close to the truth. Cross Tails is no Final Fantasy Tactics or Baulder's Gate 3, but its a solid and enjoyable turn based strategy RPG with a good amount of class variety and enough equipment variety and runestones to be able to pull off alot of very different characters and party compositions.

Highly reccomend it for the modest $30 price tage, and if you ever see it on sale I'd snap it up ASAP for the value.

I like the classes, I like the guns, I love the bugs and building and etc, and they even managed to get it optimized so my mid tier system can run it smoothly. Alot of QoL and improvements have happened over early access and the bug corpses really add something no other game has. Love this game.

So why the no Recommends? Because the servers and bugs. Servers crash sometimes or lag out, the bugs your shooting a can teleport around, etc. Which is a real bummer. That needs to like not happen ever. And there are a few annoying bugs like I got a canister's silloutte stuck to my hands glowing bright blue half blinding me for part of a match.

IMO let them cook a bit longer. It needs 2-3 post launch patches and for them to feed the hamsters in those servers. After that, I'll go back to playing this game alot again. When everything works as it should it an experience you can't get anywhere else.

Sun Haven did something I did not believe could be done. It delivered a straight up improved version of a Stardew Valley game. If you like that kinda game you'll love this one, if not...this game might be kinda gr

Progression is better, character creation is good, no energy bar, fishing doesn't suck, combat is better, there is a main story, multiplayer is better (everyone has their own character...not being tied to host! If the log you can continue playing with the same character on your own single player and hop back and forth), you feel alot more like you're part of the town, the art style has alot more personality, your ability to avoid having to worry about seasonal crops (if you don't want to) is much improved, your ability to play your way is improved, etc.

I went into this game with fairly low expectations and it blew me away. It is not a perfect game, it has small little bugs and glitches, but it definitely raises the bar for the genre a considerable amount. I've played both singleplayer and multiplayer and the gameplay experience for me and friends has been smooth and great.

The negative reviews for this game confuse me. They list nitpicky stuff like "continue game is not a default menu option!" or clipping issues in highly specific situations or "not every crop has a recipe!" (this is part of choice, not everyone wants to craft!), or "the game has too much to do" (people who can't stop doing one thing temporarily to focus on another lol), plus alot of really outdated reviews. Like they made it take an extra click to cast spells. People hated it. They immediately rolled it back. People ofc still left up their negative reviews that are solely focused on that.

But here's the trick. Look at the review times and read the language of the negative reviews. 50+ hours usually and tons of positive things to say about the game in almost all the negative reviews. With the complaints being primarily nitpicky or fixed. Many who have come back and put in alot more time later like the current top review.


Pro Tip for all game, especially mid to late game: Check your farmer's table crafting station, the scarecrows in there have alot of uses. Alot of people ignore that. and it especially makes the end game alot easier. Check what every single scarecrow does :). Also check out your options as you can customize seasonal effects and even make yourself invincible if you just hate combat or a certain boss for some reason.

I wanted to put a decent amount of hours into this and then carefully consider it before I wrote a review. Yes 1 guy made this so far and that's impressive, but the reason I reccomend this game even in an Early Access state is because its genuinely just a solid game. A solid 7/10 - 8/10 already.

It has bugs. The Voice Overs are Text to Speech. It's not beautiful. The story so far is nothing special (though the story missions themselves are all good and interesting). And once you put in enough time you can start seeing some of the limitations in some of the systems.

But that being said this already feels like a superior product to both Star citizen and Elite Dangerous and I don't say that lightly.The RPG progression loops for your character is separated into soldier (ground combat), Pilot (ship combat), and Adventurer (mining/industry/etc) and is satisfying. The RPG loot for both ground combat and ship combat has been satisfying.

The generated mission design has been ok...but somehow still better than its competitors. The story mission design is quite good. It has an actual story (which its competitors lack). It has a ton of features and while the features have limited depth they are appreciated greatly. Having different gulds to offer the different mission types, having your own faction and taking over and defending territory including big space battle culminating in a ground battle cleanup. The progression systems. Mining, bounties, FPS combat, exploration as its own guild/system, ship combat, generated missions in the world, flying in and out of planets with no loading screen, a large galaxy full of procedural generated worlds and dungeons, capturing the escape pods of defeated ship enemies, diplomacy, etc.And this is early access.

Maybe this is all we'll get....and if so that's ok. What's here is already worth it. But with frequent updates (so far at least) the potential for this game is quite high. When you're starting point is a 7-8 and this is the beginning of their early access road, we might actually be in for something truly special.

If you're sensitive to bugs? Give it time to bake. I've encountered less than I have in Star Citizen but there are still plenty. If not...its prolly already worth your time. Either way though I think you should keep an eye on this game if you like this genre at all.

The game is great, the playerbase sucks. Fighting on the front line, delivering supplies, building bunkers, running facilities, etc. I enjoyed all these things.

What I didn't enjoy is that all people do is complain and ♥♥♥♥ talk. Losing is always someone else's fault. Must be logi, must be builders, must be dev bias or balance, must be population, must be their side is just terrible. Anything ofc other than them being outplayed. And first sign of any minor defeat and people start leaving a side. Which then snowballs into more losses which makes more people leave. The side who wins each war is normally just the side who happened to lose a big battle or territory first. Then they just give up and take their ball and go home like the shallow quitters they are and blame everything else for the loss. But if you're winning those people are suddenly all online again and you're winning because of THEM.

The Reddit is toxic and even in game is pretty toxic alot of times. I really liked the game at first. Game itself is great. But the longer I played the more I hated the community until finally after nearly 550 hours of playing both sides I stopped. Now I have 550 hours, I got my monies worth no doubt. Again the game is good. But ultimately all the game represents for me now is sadness and a bitter aftertaste. And for that reason I don't recommend it. It's prolly worth every penny, but from where I sit right now after having left the game it sure doesn't feel like it. It just feels like another example of "People are why we can't have nice things".

And the biggest irony is. The people who complain loudest about the other side being imbalanced are usually the ones winning the wars. That's how ♥♥♥♥♥♥ this community is. They'll win 4 wars in a row and then claim to be underpowered. Beware the balance complaints in other reviews. Most of them are in direct opposition to the reality of how the wars actually turned out. It's part of why I hate this community. They're completely illogical.

As of roughly 6.5 in this game is basically a high quality love letter to the IP. The feel and atmosphere is fantastic, the amount of detail is and care is jaw dropping, the visuals are quite good, and its a good game that rewards exploration too. Even the combat, the weakest part, is still not bad and is getting better as they add more to it. Its also very inclusive with a wide range of races, a good mix of male/female roles done well, and even a trans bartender who's treated with respect both in terms of personhood and in terms of them being formidable.

The people trying to cancel this game and attacking other people for playing it couldn't have chosen a worse game to pull that nonsense on. Trying to cancel high quality inclusive Harry Potter IP in the name of protecting inclusiveness is the epitome of self sabotage lol.
