EA managed to take everything good from COH, threw it out the window, and replaced it with a microtransaction apparatus.

Game has gone downhill over the past few years, especially after they messed with the grenadier. Light mechs are OP in deathmatch. Bot matches aren't fun because teammates have no idea what they're doing.

A fun single-player space sim where you lead a team of mercernaries and travel throughout the universe in your mothership taking up contracts to protect, transport or destroy items pertaining to one of the other 6-7 factions in the game. Your ship can hold up to 6 team members and an unlimited amount of cargo. Each character earns xp from missions and kills, which can be applied to their own particular skill tree. You can shop for and configure parts on your mothership and fighters to match your characters' abilities. As the game progresses, newer, deadlier technology will become available. Graphics are decent and gamplay is smooth; only getting buggy when you try to load a save or cutscene while 4x-time is turned on. The campaign is long and the music soundtrack is quite good. This game isn't always easy. You will often find yourself spending a good half hour reloading the same save point to try different strategies or decisions to avoid team casualties. Save often and individually!

This standalone, 2-map survival mode version of DOW Retribution is certainly fun, but it's simply a marketing platform for character DLC (and ultimately the full version of the game). And why not? Everyone knows base building, full company skirmishes are where it's at. The entire DOW series - from 40k, to I and II - is awesome. But THQ needs to come down off their prices and slow down on the DLC money milking machine. The mere sight of all the DLC is nearly overwhelming, and would turn away any frugal shopper. Even for what this standalone is, I'm not entirely sure it's worth $9.99. Thankfully, it was a gift, so I don't have to stew about it.

A 1-4 player tower defense game that features several different character-types; who specialize in either ranged or melee combat. It has both the look and feel of Borderlands, as it features a seemingly endless supply of unique weaponry. The graphics are clean and the special effects is visual eye candy. Depending on your preference, a simple scroll of your mouse wheel can change your camera view from first-person, to third, to overhead view. You spend mana earned from missions to upgrade your weapons and equipment, or can purchase a pet to boost your perks and assist in your attacks. The only downside to this game is that you can get burnt out on it rather quickly. However, the constant release of new DLC should guarantee some replay value if you ever feel the need to fight some orks, ogres, and flying wyverns.

It's an action-packed arcade-style FPS with aliens and oversized insects. Up to 3 players can take on ants, wasps, spiders, flying gunships, aircraft carriers, and giant robots. There's 4 classes to choose from - including the Jet Trooper - who can hover across the field and elevate into the sky to rain down death from above. Despite what the XBox youtube videos look like, the graphics are quite good on the PC. It's got co-op campaign and survival modes and is a hell of a lot of fun. Get it!

A 4-player co-op shoot em up with a Left for Dead feel and arcade-style action. The gameplay is smooth, and the voice acting and musical tracks are fantastic. There are currently 6 maps to choose from and 3 upgrade/skill trees with plenty of unlockable goodies to keep you wanting to play. This game has nowhere to go but up. I hope to see some DLC in the near future.

I bought this game for $5. This is roughly its exact value. There is no actual single player campaign - its just multiplayer mode with bots. Although it features some unique elements such as the ambience of space and 3 dimensional fights, it is poorly optimized, has a very lazy 2D interface, and bland gameplay with very little to do besides shooting other players. So with a space game where all you do is shoot people you'd expect to get a plethora of cool futuristic weapons and accessories, right? No. They threw in the same ugly combination of guns you've seen in nearly every recent land-based game - only with 3 times more recoil so you can't hit ♥♥♥♥.

What irks me the most is when trying to snipe. You are in the vaccum of space and can firmly hold any weapon steady at your hip, but the second you try to aim down your scope your weapon waves around like you're standing in the middle of a category 4 hurricane with a windsock attached to your gun. This game needs an overhaul.
