This is my most played game on Steam and will probably remain as such. I stray away from it from time to time to play other games but it can pull me back in like no other game. I'm always ready to drop whatever else I'm playing and hop right back in.

It offers the most enjoyable first person melee combat system ever made, flat out, and a skill roof that is both impossibly high as well as always seemingly attainable. I have never felt so motivated to get better at a game. That is largely in part thanks to the co-op nature of it, its structured very similarly to Left4Dead. The inadequacy of any of the 4 players on a team is noticed and felt by the other three so substantially that I'd guess 80% of chat dialogue consists of apologies.

There are criticisms to be had with some of the dev team's decisions and the progression system but they all feel inconsequential, really. Once you do have a team of friends all competing for the best score in any given run, this game becomes more fun than anything I've ever played in my life. Its like nothing else, a power trip coupled with a constant adrenaline rush.
