Creative, brilliant blend of mystery, history and pure ingenuity. In this game you will analyze medieval documents, spread and collect rumours at dining tables, and make hard decisions during particularly trying times.

For anyone passionate about history, languages, books, typography, and art, there will be something here for you. From the miniscule details like the printer using a printed typeface in his dialogue boxes while peasants are using messy scripts, to the work-in-progress artwork affected by the player's decisions, Pentiment shows great care in its craft.

The story itself manages to tie together the struggles of the people of a small Bavarian town which survived through many layers of history: pre-classical, Roman, Christian, Reformist. All are present throughout the vibrant cast of characters that the player meets throughout their journey.

Throughout its 3 acts, Pentiment builds up anticipation through clever use of mystery, puzzles, and mini-games up to satisfying conclusion that left me thinking and eager to see another way that things could have unfolded.
