Great game, but does not work offline due to garbage denuvo. Yes, I've launched the game for the first time with internet access and yet, I couldn't play it on the flight as I've planned.
I will change the review when it's removed.
Mr denuvo ceo, hate towards this garbage is justified.

Edit. The game works offline after first activation, but what's not mentioned, first activation after not only first launch, but after every update. And yes, everyday shader downloads are considered updates. So you have to prepare before going offline. You have to prepare for internet outage or something by launching the game everyday for a second.
Meanwhile, free, pirated copy available almost since the beginning will always work offline.

Thank you for leaving this review! The game looks great, and I'm absolutely intent on buying it, but I can wait for them to ditch Denuvo so I can actually enjoy the thing I will eventually pay for. Sega doesn't want my money now, and I respect that.

No. Most don't have denuvo and this problem. This is the my first game with this problem.

That is steams rules and applies to every game you play on steamdeck.... So you don't recommend playing any steam game?

I sympathise and I double down on that opinion, no matter that I like the game. It could have been worst though, looking at those juicy PS (single player) games requiring PSN account.
I'm planning to leave Not Recommended with positive and fair review description about the game itself. I just need more hours, I fresh started it.

If your upset that Denuvo screwed you over now, wait till you find out that it didn't even work and crackers got around it like the 2nd day it was released.

i moved to a new house and had 0 internet for a week. i played this game perfectly fine never connecting to the internet.

DerNerd. When not connected to the internet, after clicking play, an error message is displayed in a gray dialog that says I need to run the game for the first time while connected to the internet. I have 30 hours of gameplay, launched the game many times. How many more hours and launches I need to complete the "first time setup"?
