Had to give it a bad review because of how difficult the game is even on EASY mode! I got to the mad scientist boss before I gave up. Not only does he have a bullet reflecting shield which kills you very quickly, he also throws acid piles everywhere, and uses a toxin gas which causes you to move opposite from your intended direction. On top of that, he has minions to take cheap shots at you the whole time.

You get to pick your weapon loadout and upgrades before each level. Melee weapons range from baseball bats to axes. Ranged weapons include revolvers, shotguns, AKs, etc. These all can be upgraded which is good. However, the ammo drops for them are scarce when you consider how many enemies are in each level. All it takes is one mob of zombies to attack you for 5 secs or so and then your full health is gone. It is even more frustrating because you cannot interrupt your attack animation by dodging, which gives enemies easy hits on you. You also get the ability to become a big zombie hulk after killing enough enemies, but it doesn't last very long and takes a while to build up again.

I am sure it would be more fun and less difficult in co-op but since it was just me, the experience was more annoying than enjoyable.

Extremely repetitive, frustrating gameplay. The combat and even traversal is like an inferior version of the Middle Earth games. Literally every single mission is a defense objective where you have to save a randomly generated town (from several environments that look similar) from "extinction" by preventing the safe percentage from reaching zero.

The "open world" is more of a sandbox area to run around and save villagers to gain xp and rune attack points (which is the only way to kill the ravenii). To top it off there are 7 chapters with 5 or so levels each, which play exactly the same. The ravenii are huge orc monsters that make your job extremely difficult and can only be killed by building up a special attack meter. You have to climb up them and slice their head off but many times the game makes it very difficult to do so because of the stiff aiming controls.

Chopping their legs off to topple them is the basic way to make the climb easier but often times their legs will be protected by indestructible armor. The only way to kill these enemies is to aim at their arms with your grappling hook and hope that the trash aiming controls allow you to do so. I ended up having to replay some of the levels and hope that the random generator avoided these types of enemies as too many times I was failing missions because the game would not allow me even a chance to kill them.

It blows me away that the devs would even dare to charge people extra for DLC, which are literally just more trial challenges that are already missions in the base game.

I had fun with this game. The 30 fps is a shame but the gameplay itself makes up for it. You get the choice of shooting your way out of things or stealthily sneaking by enemies. I played on the easiest difficulty because I didn't feel like sneaking around since the game gives you tons of guns and ammo. You get some pistols, smgs, assault rifles, and even a minigun and rocket launcher to take out baddies. Not to mention the big mech robots you get to pilot in some of the levels. Those are the best parts because they control similar to being on foot. You can drop and pickup weapons, dodge, and even take cover behind buildings like any other cover shooter. None of these controls are amazing but they get the job done without resulting in any cheap deaths.

The levels themselves are wide spaces to explore to find ammo, health, etc. and also do side missions. The side missions mostly suck because they are the protect civilians type and they can die pretty easily if you are not careful. There is also a Telltale-esque dialogue choice mechanic that plays into not only the main story but side missions too. If you pick the wrong option in a side mission, there is a big chance that you instafail them. This is mostly from convincing civilians to escape the war torn city.

I say pick this up on sale for 10 bucks or so if you want a 10 hour campaign with a above average story and some good action.

Hands down the most intense, insane shooter (not just twin stick) I have ever played in terms of amount of things happening on screen. You can acquire tons of perks from leveling up that increase your firepower, spread, movement speed etc. which are vital to surviving each level that throws hundreds of monsters at you. Some of the awesome powerups include a nuke that wipes out a big portion of the enemies on screen, a rare Doom inspired BFG gun that make each level a joke, and a Mario inspired star that gives you god mode for a short time.

The DLC is a must in my opinion if you want to complete the higher difficulty campaigns, which is the only way to acquire some of the above mentioned items. These levels get absurdly difficult in tight quarters especially, so you will need all the help you can get.

I am blown away at how philosophically deep and terrifying this 2D horror side scroller is. The first game was very impressive but this sequel brings up the scares and feels to a higher level. If you are a horror fan you will get your fix with disturbing images (blood, scary faces). If you are a fan of deep stories you will be impressed with how in-depth the game handles your character's sad life story. There are some light puzzles like in Resident Evil but with much less backtracking (thankfully) due to small stages.

Most of the game is extremely creepy and depressing but the roller coaster ride of a journey you embark on to mend your character's pain and anguish is nothing short of amazing, as you will feel truly inspired by the end of it. The game takes a very mature look on negative emotions and ultimately turns that into a positive outcome.

This game is pretty much an "open world" walking simulator in the sense that there is a small open map for you to explore. However, you can only interact with 14 distinct landmarks (called artifacts), all of which represent the achievements.

You also only get about 10 minutes each playthrough to explore before your character's location resets to the starting point, hence the name "Timeframe". The soothing music in the game also acts like your clock, as it will get faster and louder as your time winds down. Despite all this, it only took me a few of these sessions to get all achievements.

As a handy tool, your pause button brings up a pseudo-map that shows you the location of all artifacts relative to your spawn point in the middle of the map.

Definitely recommended to buy for under a dollar during one of the sales.

Game is lolzy af. It is a classic "fish out of the water" tale that sees the music gods bringing back Frederic Chopin from the dead to make music great again. In order to do so, he must battle the evil profit driven record labels and other artists that dish out generic pop tracks that seek to destroy musical creativity.

My favorite part of the game is when Frederick visits NYC and asks a rap group for directions in a seedy alleyway. He says "Excuse me gentlemen" and acts all polite. This kind of humor is pervasive throughout the game and is the only reason why I recommend it. The gameplay itself is tedious, which is just playing a keyboard at a fast pace.

I really liked this game and I am not even a Warhammer fan. Besides this game, I have only played Space Marine and Vermintide. The story lost me about halfway through the game (something about aliens and demons?) but the voice acting was competent enough to keep me engaged throughout the cutscenes.

A lot of the review complaints are directed towards the dull gameplay but I found that it had enough variety in it to not become too montonous. You will do a lot of slow walking down hallways and other areas, as many have said. The combat is mainly comprised of rolling around and slashing/shooting with a pretty decent arsenal of unlockable weapons. You also have the option of doing stealth assassinations against unaware enemies. This was my preferred way of dispatching enemies because they are one hit kills, as opposed to open combat where enemies can parry your attacks for a while before you can finally kill them.

In between combat segments are Batman-esque hacking tool segments where you do little hacking minigames to open doors and such. Later in the game you will even do Jedi mind trick brain hack minigames on enemies to manipulate them. These minigames were by far my favorite part of the game.

I did run into some glitches in the game where my character got permanently stuck on some objects which forced me to reload a checkpoint.

If this game is on sale for cheap, it is worth a buy. There is plenty of grandiose dialogue, good action/stealth, and fun little minigames to keep action fans entertained for a short while.

My 2nd favorite zombie game ever, right behind Dying Light. Great variety of weapons to use that range from silly trinkets like toy swords to deadly weapons like chainsaws. You can even create different combo weapons and vehicles. My favorites are a multi-bladed weed wacker chainsaw and a kiddy bike that shoots flames at the sides.

The game world is massive, with a big mall to explore along with many outdoor areas. Luckily, there are plenty of driveable vehicles such as tractors and military humvees (with a mounted LMG) to traverse the map. Collectible hunters will be pleased, as there are hundreds of them to find that give you XP and provide additional stories. Another neat feature is a spectrum analyzer in your camera that allows you to view and open secret areas.

A lot of the negative reviews point out the performance issues/constant crashing but the game has only crashed one time for me. My main gripe with this game is the lack of a manual save system. The game only saves your complete progress and weapons at checkpoints and these can sometimes be rare outside of story missions and events. You basically have to go out of your way to get to an unmarked area in the world and just hope to come across one if you are just exploring.

Fun fps game that takes you back through the history of shooters and some other genres as well. You will play in levels inspired by Halo, Medal of Honor, Quake, fantasy rpgs, and even Pac Man. There is a wide variety of weapons to use throughout the game that spans the above mentioned titles.

A lot of self aware jokes about the culture of those games and online gaming. My favorite is a level that is a mock multiplayer match where you have to get to 15 kills before the other "players" do. The others even trash talk you and claim you are hacking, which is true to life and hilarious.

The middle and end portions of the game however have levels that drag on for too long, as they are mostly running about wide areas to find the objective and platforming that is mediocre at best. Luckily you have a quicksave button to utilize before you fall down! Hit detection is very inconsistent as well.

7/10
