CS2 may be out, but I'm loving my time in CS1 at the moment.
... and I'm playing unmodded as that's all my 8GB RAM will allow me !!

Is this still Early Access !! Wow - I've spent 275 hours on an Early Access game !! Game is very solid already, what more is there to say. :)

EDIT - Game now full release. Final Early Access playtime was 567 hours !!

UPDATE - Now at 952 hrs.

4 arenas. 15 waves per arena. Each wave has an optional challenge.
I can see why for people who want to beat the challenge this can be frustrating. That's because if you fail a challenge then the only way to try it again is by going through all the previous waves. You cannot jump directly to a specific wave.

If you are not driven by high scores and completing the optional challenges then this is really good fun. Some levels are ridiculously difficult. If you die you can just carry on from where you are in a wave, you just automatically fail the challenge.

If nothing else, use this DLC as a training ground. Playing this I discovered how good the handgun is !! I also discovered the charged melee seems good against the handyman - however, yet to try this out in the main game.

A little hidden gem (considering it wasn't listed in the bundle it came in).
This game is actually more fun than Bridge Constructor Playground.

  • Build bridges and then you get to drive them. Yes, you get to control the vehicle with fairly basic inputs; go forward, brake, flip forward & flip backward. All in all, it kept me entertained for 25 hours - not bad for a 'free' game !!

The only small criticism was that it did start to lag the more I progressed through the game. Maybe linked to the increasing number of map saves and saves of replays I made.

  • At time of writing I have yet to play Bridge Constructor and Bridge Constructor Medieval.

To be truthful, I didn't expect much from this game at all. I'm rather sceptical of any game that's available under early access. As it happened, I bought this once it made full release. Still didn't expect much of it... but pleased to say I've been proven wrong.

There's a very simple aim - build machines to defeat the levels. But that's hardly the point to the game. Really it just gives you tools to build what you want to do what you want. The people most likely to get most out of this game are those interested in engineering.

Me ? I'm not an engineer - I just thought it looked like it could be fun. Which it has been. I'm about 90 hours into this game now. Beat all the zones long ago. Now just tinkering with designs or even looking at new ways to beat a level. Still learning. Still having fun.

Although I did get this for free, it was via the Steam Summer Grand Prix sale event. It was top of my Wish List when Team Tortoise finished 3rd one day. Go Team Tortoise !!

Didn't quite know what to expect and really pleasantly surprised.
The game is based around growing cities by delivering goods and people. As cities grow they need more goods so there is an element of strategy, especially against AI competitors.

Alternatively, you can play in sandbox mode and build til your heart is content.

A bit of a learning curve as the 'Ego' increases. It's fun and easy at the lower Ego's, virtually impossible as you approach maximum (I'd say from 80 and above (Max is 99)).

Ultimately, you reach a point where the fun goes and you just can't win. If you can accept that then dip back to a more comfortable Ego level where you can enjoy smashing balls out of the park and making guys cry as you strike them out.

Deceptively addictive and good fun !!
Some really tricky puzzles when the only option is drawing lines. But well worth pushing through them as you get fun 'toys' to play with in later puzzles.

NOTE: You will need to use 16:9 screen aspect ratio as 4:3 does not show all the play area making some puzzles impossible.
