This game is what Red Hook wanted to do in the first game.

There is permadeath that is natural since the whole game is a semi-roguelite (there's a lot of to unluck, but little to boost the actual stats of heroes).
There are regions with bosses, but you have some choice of where you go.
You are pushed towards facing bosses - you need to kill at least one on the road to the mountain.
Rests are fixed - now there's a rest after each region and no more.
Each hero has different variants, so you can alter their role (and identity) by using different subclasses - some are WILD (check Hellion and Leper).
Prot, dodge and enemy death's door are fixed.
