I decided to purchase the enhanced version, because of the extra extension to Portola.
The route I like.
The SW1200 Switcher, not so much, due mainly to the Horn it is awful.
If I play any Workshop Scenarios that use "it" I will swap it out for a different version.

The rolling stock is excellent IMO, mainly because I like to play switching scenarios and the interactive sounds like the brakes coming on and off are just so realistic.
Takes me back to the days of working on the railway as a shunter, in NZ.

I notice also that the rolling stock does not "lean over excessively" going around curves as used to happen with some earlier wagons, which just looked ridiculous.

What an excellent Loco.
Motor sounds are just great, moving from idle to notch 1 and you get a definite change in the sound,
Individual head lights can be set from Dim to Mid to Bright or off if running several locos together.
I will be using this version of the GP40-2 in my scenarios.

This is an excellent route with very good scenery and lots of shunting options.
I did find the operating of the GP35 difficult at the start, until I worked out I needed to bail-off the brakes in order for the Traction Motors to engage. {Which I found a little unusual}

I am enjoying the game on Sandbox mode, as it doesn't put me under pressure to head off the Railway Barons.
It is really good that there are several ways to play this game.
It reminds me of Sid Meier's Railroads only more real looking.

I am now enjoying the game even more since trying out the Campaigns.
They are very well thought out and based Historically in the cases I have played.

I am now playing Scenario 11 and am enjoying them all except for Scenario 2 the "Star Warehouse".
While I can play "Star Warehouses" in other scenarios, where I choose to, I found the one in Scenario 2 became too complex for me.

All in all this game is very compelling to continue playing, I have had to sometimes continue into the wee hours.

I like how it is possible to dig up the ground and dump the spoil in a designated area.

But it is quite a complicated game overall, be prepared to learn,
I have found some YouTube videos to be my best help.

At last an American route with good old Semaphore Signals.
I just do not like the modern in loco type signalling.
Maybe I'm just too old.
The scenery and clutter is absolutely spot-on.
I have only started the scenario with the pair of HH600 locos and am loving it so far.

This game is really well done and most comprehensive and graphically amazing.
My first attempt was a loss of all my inhabitants, due to not having understood what needed to be done.
Since then I have watched much footage on Youtube and my second attempt is going well.

I have found this game a bit overwhelming and have had to watch much on YouTube, to assist in my getting going.
I will continue with a campaign I started and hope I don't lose all my ships.

While I am still learning this very complex game and for the first few hours I found it rather frustrating, I just watched a lot of game play on YouTube and learnt enough to get myself going.
I'm now very pleased I kept at it.
I have now mastered the Oil Industry and have managed to get a coal mine and power station running.
There is so much more to get onto.
Well worth purchasing if you have the time to "stick at it".
