A Rough Gem, But a Lovely One!

After a few years and around 120 hours of gameplay, I recently re-downloaded Fallout 76 and already have almost 40 hours on the clock. The game is a rough gem, as visually it's not even close to the standard of 2020, but the overall look is coherent and fits very well into the Fallout game world. One thing many players don't realise. The timeline for Fallout 76 is quite close in time to the Great War, the day the bombs fell.

A large part of the storytelling deals with themes from the time before 2077. Communism, Conspiracies, Worker Unities, Illegal Experiments, and so on. A beautiful example, the story of the missing child of the Grafton Steel company boss. If you explore the north of the game world, you will unveil a conspiracy surrounding Grafton Steel and the story is linked to various quests. At some point, you'll connect the dots. In other places of the game world, you will find similarly well-made quests. In terms of lore and atmosphere, I'd say it is a proper Fallout game.

Since its release, the game has been polished and expanded. It now offers at least 300 hours of content but there's of course also hardcore players at the Level of 3000+ who must have played the game for years. There are several world quests and items that require a certain level of progress but as the game utilises level scaling, you can explore the game world at your leisure and team up with anyone. Important, I highly recommend to always team up as this will provide you up to x4 times bonus EXP and Nuka Cola Caps whenever a team member finishes a quest - a lovely system that doesn't force you into player interactions.

In typical Bethesda style, the building menu can be described as clunky. However, once you get the hang of it, you can delve into crafting and base building. I've spent hours on setting up camps as it simply is fun to do, especially after you have collected new base building recipes.

The monetization through Fallout 1st subscription and IAPs is purely optional. It is possible to enjoy the game without spending additional money.

Who is this game for?

If you love to explore worlds, collect resources, and dive into a rich crafting system while shooting at stuff, this game is for you.

Wir bereiten einen Hinterhalt auf Endor vor. Für ein 4 Jahre altes Spiel ist die Grafik super.
