If there was a 'Neutral' option in the "Do you recommend this game?" dialog I would rate it that.

X-Rebirth isn't completely terrible, but it feels like a step backwards compared to the previous X games. You can only fly in one ship - the Skunk corvette. This removes one of my favorite aspects of the X franchise: being able to personally fly in and command any ship of any size.

X: Rebirth in the time I played it doesn't feel like an X game. Rebirth feels too different; perhaps it would be better off in a separate franchise. In the span I played it, it lacked most of the hallmarks of the X series: Gates,Sectors,Races and other mechanics are all changed or removed.

I did however find the stations quite amusing to explore and I think that part is a major improvement.

5/10 Meh.

It is quite nice, but i would recommend a newer game in the franchise. steep learning curve.
