So, there was a small update which may be related to compatabilty with Windows 10. I haven't played this game for a long time. But, now I see it crashes as it begins to load, something about Xtension has stopped working. Anyone else have this problem? As I say I haven't booted this program in quite a while so maybe this problem has been around. I also upgraded my GPU last winter if its a graphics issue. I also have Europa Universalis IV crash on this system while it works fine on other computers I have....

Does this game require X Beyond The Frontier or not?

Starting the game I was bit lost, so I found a guide on the internet that said I should sell my starting ship and get the Lifter and go trade, but the problem I have is that no matter what system I go, besides energy cells, buying price is always higher than any selling price. Do I need to trade across systems? The other option I saw recommended was to get a discoverer and try capturing pirate ships to sell those. Should I abandon trading and go for pirate capture? What was actually best X-Game in all series? I remember I bought long long time ago X2 but didnt like it (I like more Aquanox and Yager). What do you think guys? Any here who played all X games?
