I don't know what people expected when they bought a game that was a console port. I buy games, and go in as open-minded as possible. Not every game, right out of the box, is gonna run as smooth as butter. Heck, most console ports become "Loading Screen/CtD Simulator". It's come to be expected. The game is fun, for what it is. I recommend a controller, on keyboard/mouse is the most awkward thing to me. I use an Nvidia GTX 660, and, unless my card is something else I don't know, I never had the "10 min crashing bug". But, stuttering abound, and occasional freezes (mostly first loading, and quiting), it is still a fun time. I wish the city was not plagued by road blocks on every major intersection, as it makes saving survivors a nightmare as I must drive all the way across town, and through zombies (praying to god they don't die) so that they can be "used" later. I appreciate the side-story dlcs a lot, but I also wish they gave us Chuck/Frank West outfits and weps too. I also notice the game tends to minimize itself when putting on most of the clothes in the game, which does get annoying.

This is getting long, basically, I love the DR series. I thank whoever made the call to bring it to Steam. I will surely play through this, but there are bugs (many of which I can't confirm and haven't come across), and there are massive frame rate drops at seemingly random times. As well, I noticed that my pc doesn't seem as noisey, as if the game isn't using all my comp has to offer. At least compared to games like Warframe, XCOM, etc, my pc usually sounds like a leaf blower (5 fans 4 days), but my pc sounds like it usually does just idle. Thought that was interesting to share.

This game knows what it is, and has a lot of fun with that knowledge. It knows it has a simple story, it knows it has a simple combat system. To be honest, this is a lot of fun! The game is relatively short too, so you can blaze through it by yourself, or even better, with a bro at your side. Skull-maggedon is the best villian I've come across in a long time. His plan is straight forward, he made me laugh, he had hidden jokes in his boss fight (possible unintentional 'Face/Off reference in one of his attacks or I read too deep into that), and his ending is one I won't forget. But, alas, this game is short, like the original. It took me roughly 3 hours to beat the game, and I'm tempted to ask my bro to play with me on a harder difficulty. Loved the music (especially the 2nd stage song), the visuals, the fighting, and the main antagonist.

When I first tried this game around v7-ish, the ui was a 'fuster-cluck' of stuff. I had no idea what to do, who goes where, why the warframes even, etc. So, sadly, I gave up. As well, a tubor of a pc was no help either. Come a few weeks ago, it is up there, in my opinion, with good F2Ps like Team Fortress 2. It follows a pattern where you have to work for stuff, and buying things is not necessary unless you want to shorten build times. I like that, it is a sense of progression that even few P2P games give. I really like that. As well, each warframe is varied, and unique in each power. Some are pure tanks, others are 'butterflies-of-death', and 1 is basically a self-repairing/energy siphoning queen, and another is the best for defense missions. As well, each wep feels varied, and looks unique, and few need certain prerequisites to acquire them. Higher mastery rank, gives you cooler weps, and clans/labs allow research into cooler weps. Aside from the occasional bug, I really love this game.

You know what, I'm done. I'm forcing myself to play this game just to get it over and done with. The game is a slog of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ dialogue and Aiden's cringe worthy "Batman voice" doesn't help. Everywhere you turn, someone happens to have convienently decided to sell you out to a bigger group. Take your friend and "enemy", he kidnaps your sister. He threatens to kill her, and what does he do? Drag his feet. If he was serious, and I mean serious, harm her. Show Aiden that you have all the cards and that there is no convienent plot device to get him to you. The second Aiden picked up Jacks, his friend should have called him on the phone and said "look at a tv" and the news report reads "fire in house, two dead inside". This would tell Aiden up front "hey, I should stop treating my friend like a chump and actually take my job seriously. I'm still going to kill him after. But, now I'm motivated." Instead, his friend just makes it sound like he trapped Aiden's sister by showing her scrapbooks, and she's too polite to just flat out leave.

As well, everyone says "wow, who is this guy", do these people ever look on the news? T Bone figured it out because he turned on the tv and the news told Aiden's name and showed a picture. How has Lucky not tracked this clown down yet. As we see with cameras, his "facial recognition software" has a few second delay before it just turns him into a giant "missingno". How has Quinn, an old style mobster, not established a pattern and sent armed goons to just shank him already. You can say "oh, he's just good", no, Aiden's a chump. He's just really lucky, or the plot just says for something to happen. In real life, Aiden would have been found in an alley somewhere with a bag over his head.

I can ♥♥♥♥♥ and moan about how dumb this game is, but the one thing that sells it is Aiden. Nothing he says or does warrants any emotion from the player, and he's a murderer. Ridding the streets of criminals or not, he's commiting crimes. Aside from that, he's commiting bank fraud and stealing from people. Also, he talks like he just eats cigarettes. There's a lot more, but this is getting long enough.

My final rating, is garbage.

I love the Metal Gear series. The whole story is interesting. Initially, I too griped about this game and Raiden as protagonist, but my opinion changed once I played the game. The game's story is simple, and feels like it is more of a "revengeance" feel, being that Raiden was bested and now wishes to take his "revengeance" on the man/company that bested him. It is loud, rediculous, over the top, etc. It is a really good game, the moves are as flashy as the time Raiden fought Vamp and Gekko, and shows a post-Patriots world. Other than that, my only gripe is the block/parry system. This game doesn't use the 'button mash for attack, press to counter' system that Arkham made famous, it does the typical hack-n-slash system. But, to block you must simultaneously move the left stick and press light attack at the same time (pointing at the attacker) and depending on how soon you do it does either a block, or parry to then kill your enemy. But, half the time Gekkos stun lock you in a corner and you lose your rythm for blocking very quickly because of this. Imagine Dark Souls, punishes simple mistakes but easily rewards good skill. Good game, but some enemies are frustratingly hard.

This is one of the crown jewels of Valve, next to Portal and Half Life. Following the story of 4 survivors as they tour around Lousiana, killing zombies and the like. Simple? Turns out this game has a deeper story than just 4 people surviving. Reading graffiti in safe rooms tells stories of other people's experiences, talking about the military and their possible agenda, CEDA and how their attempted control failed, etc. You also feel for these survivors as friends, strangely enough. I wish Valve broke their streak of "no games with the number 3 in it" and gave us a continuation of both L4D1 and L4D2. But, with mods, that breathes new life in this game. Stuff that make the game either outright scary and challenging, or hilarious. Nicholas Cage flashlight, "My leg!" pipebombs, changing gun skins, and survivor skins! Would recommend to anyone and everyone.

This game is tragic. It is only fun in small doses. And if in those small doses, you bring friends along to help lighten up the torture. My main complaint is how it is an endless stream of fetch quests. You can play as 4 survivors. An African-American rapper, a washed up football player, a private security guard, and a hotel worker (*spoilers*secretly a spy planted by the Chinese). In the midst of this has-been reunion, zombies crash the party. Now is where the real terror begins. You are chased down a hallway by enemies that are stronger then you. Annoying. Then, you meet a group of survivors who want your "help" to clear a bunch of zombies outside. By help, I mean do everything while they sit there and watch. Which would be tollerable if it wasn't the case throughout the whole game! Some survivors are holed up in secure areas, but, you and only YOU are meant to run back and forth doing annoying tasks. Let me give you an example, a woman asks me to find her necklace her late husband gave to her. It can be found in their bungalow. But, the entire area is infested with zombies. Now, these zombies aren't like normal. You have infected that run and do relatively weak attacks, walkers that lunge and can send you flying, and many other unfair obstacles. So, after clearing out the area, my friends and I go into this bungalow, get the necklace, and go to our quest giver. You know what we got for our hassle? Experience, and a knife. She was wearing a bikini, so unless she had the knife in her butt or cleavage, how in the world would she have it? And the entire story is just, zombies appear because the "big bad government wanted to!" I just needed to share my experience with this train wreck. And the glitches! Oh the glitches! Driving is awkward and clanky. Hitting a zombie while in a car will have him ragdoll, either swooping over your windshield, falling under the car, or him being fine then dying as you are 58 meters from him. I suppose the realization he missed death caused him to go into cardiac arrest?

This game is alive. Very alive. By alive, I mean it has many things happening all at once that seem like things people would be doing. Stalkers hunting animals for food, talking by campfires, hunting for artifacts, or making last stands against tougher foes. Even the animals, they too hunt, travel in packs, and attack others for food. The story may not be the best, but it has some amazing elements that seem what should be considered "survival horror". Choosing between sacrificing food for ammo, requiring sleep and meals, proper weapon maintenance, inventory organization, choosing between armor that'll let you take extra hits or sneak past enemies while considering the carry weight of both, the feeling of being hunted by enemies that are stronger than you, and finally coming across the grave of an unlucky stalker that could mean finding valuable resources. I love Fallout for its slightly comical take on nuclear holocaust, and Metro for its serious approach. But, this'll always be my go-to for the feeling of dread that one should expect from survival horror.

This game is great. With the new DLC to add some extra tension, I find it hard that anyone can miss this. My only complaint is how unfair the hit succession is. I know that on higher difficulties you have to try and outwit your enemy by flanking them on multiple fronts, if that. But, enemies like the thin men, which are good shots even on lower difficulties, can 1-shot most, if not, all of your starting operatives. Especially the peons known as Sectoids. I had to restart the first mission 7 times because the Sectoids would usually do 2 things, "mind meld" (or whatever it is called), and suicide charge. The "mind meld" is a huge buff, giving the reciever aim bonus and 1 extra health. The reciever would then suicide charge forward, intiate a shot, and 1-shot any of my 4 starting units. Rinse, and repeat. I know you have to make sacrifices, but very rarely do I find a game that rewards winning, and punishes failure so harshly. Still, no game so far has made me cry tears of joy, or tears of frustration as this.
