This game is amazing. It's difficult, but the kind of difficult where everything is fair. You can clearly see yourself getting better over time, and things that seemed insane or impossible to you at first will become something you can handle in your sleep. Great sense of humor, surprisingly complex lore and narrative, good pixel art, and just all-around fun. But I mean, everyone sings this game's praises. Y'all already knew how good it was, didn't you?

Absolutely fantastic game. Boss fights are especially incredible. The story is also amazing, with complex characters and some truly gut-wrenching moments.

The new chapter, Arctic Cruise, has the same charming characters and visuals that the base release had. But it's staggeringly short, and two of the three levels there are timed challenges. It's unsatisfying, but not the real problem here.

Death Wish mode is far too difficult. A complete about-face on the feeling of the game compared to the base release. The goals are made razor thin, with basically no room for error whatsoever. Restarts take a long time, due to not only the death animation but also taunts from a character and reminders that you can turn on an easy mode. Many later challenges take over 5 minutes to complete on a successful run, and it is no fun having to redo everything from the beginning over and over and over with no checkpoints. This is made even more complicated by the fact that the game is still buggy and unoptimized. Frankly, this DLC completely ruined the game. Utterly.

This is a pretty fun platforming game by, surprisingly, Game Freak. Yes, the Pokémon developers. While I have seen many people comparing this game to Sonic the Hedgehog, personally I felt it was more similar to Donkey Kong Country. Especially the two more recent entries in the series (Returns and Tropical Freeze). It is a very momentum-based game with lots of destruction, cannons to shoot yourself out of, things to interact with, and enemies to wallop. It lends itself very well to speed-running. At the same time, there are numerous secret alcoves and collectibles to track down, encouraging a slower-paced and more thorough playthrough of each level too.

Tembo himself is very entertaining and pops with personality. I can't think of another game with an elephant as your main playable character. Your arsenal of moves isn't huge, but there are a fair few abilities and they all have their uses (even the slide-kick which I initially underrated). The animations are cute and fun, and that's not just for Tembo either. The enemies have amusing animations as well. In that regard I am reminded of the Metal Slug series.

The game isn't perfect though. In addition to the already infamous launch problem, at the time of writing this review there is still another bug in the game that sometimes makes you pinball uncontrollably around. The only way to correct this is to log out of the game and load it back up. I 100% completed the game (except for the "collect 99 lives" achievement) in about 5 hours and experienced this pinballing glitch three seperate times. Sadly, the game is also pretty short. Hopefully it will get some Steam Workshop support or something to help with the longevity. One final note on the negatives as well, the music is extremely bland. It's not to say that it is irritating, it just is entirely unnoticable and forgettable.

This is a pretty decent FPS. The gravity gun is really fun to play with. I also like the way the rocket launcher works, with the laser sight guiding the rockets. I can't say I found the story all that interesting though, and some of the physics "puzzles" were more like moderately annoying roadblocks. They weren't hard at all, they just wasted a few minutes. But yeah, overall it's a pretty enjoyable FPS.

I had always heard people call this series an RPG series, so I never paid it much mind until recently. I was browsing random things on Steam and discovered to my surprise that this is actually sort of an action/brawler game with only light RPG elements and a bit of Metroidvania-ness to the map layout. It's really quite fun. There are three different playable characters, and not only do they have different stories but they actually play quite differently from one another too. The music is catchy as well.

This is a pretty enjoyable platforming game done in the style of really, really old PC games. It's fun and difficult, but you also have infinite lives so you can just keep trying until you get it. This game is also free, so what have you got to lose?

This is an irreverently funny trivia game. The questions mix pop culture with general knowledge in fun and humorous ways. There is single-player mode for seeing how much money you can make on your own, and 2P versus mode for competitive play. The sense of humor is quite dirty at times though, just to warn you. I found it hilarious.

A quite enjoyable Diablo-esque game. I believe I read it is even made by the same people that made the original Diablo and Diablo 2 (but not 3). The artstyle is nice, the classes are cool, and the combat is enjoyable. Like most action/dungeon crawler-type games, it isn't very hard though. One nice convinience thing they have in this game is that you get a pet (you can pick from a bunch of different animals). They will not only help you fight in combat, but you can also load them up with supplies and send them to town to sell junk. You can also give them a shopping list so they can buy stuff for you when they come back too.

A pretty enjoyable and relaxing platformer. It isn't too challenging, but can still cause you a few deaths here and there. There's a bit of a parkour element to the game too.
