- Preface: Don't think it's too late to jump in. DO NOT wait for the next season, start NOW. I heard and saw nothing about this game until 4 days ago when i dismissed it after hearing about the dreaded wipe every "6 weeks" then i found out it was F2P, then i found out it was Netease, neither of which impressed me.

Then i played it and found out it's AWESOME, and the fear over seasonal resets = WAY overblown. This game mixes a lot of systems together, such as The Division, Defiance (F's in chat, i miss that game) a bit of Pokemon/Palworld mechanics, and even a dash of Fallout 76. It takes a little here and a little there, and makes it better, kinda like what Blizzard used to do before they started to suck... but i digress.

Seriously, this was the shock of the century for me, and i have a motto, if a F2P game doesn't gatekeep me from half of its content with micro's, and it's just a really fun game, i WANT to give the devs my money. That's this game in a nutshell.

- Gameplay: 10/10! They nailed the combat, the open world is alive, tons of stuff to see and do, and things change as you progress from one tier to the next. By the time your equipment improves, you're onto the next area farming the next set of nodes for mats and making a new base, or transferring your old base. There is grind, but it feels minimal compared to other games with survival mechanics. Enemies are varied and awesome, tons of objectives and things to strive toward.

- Monetization: So far it's perfect, only cosmetics! Those cosmetics are awesome btw, and i bought the season pass extended edition and the Racing Loon set. They don't hammer you over the head with gated content, i reached for my wallet willingly and wanting to support them. There is a lot of different currency, but so far only ONE you actually have to buy.

- Graphics: Solid, i'm getting older so i'm more easily impressed with graphics than a lot of younger players will be, keep that in mind but i say it's about a 8.5/10. The character models, especially faces are kinda meh, some details could be better in the environments, but the outfits look great, weapons look great and so does the world overall. The lighting is very good, water looks nice, the different enemies look AWESOME. Seriously, that's a big part of the allure for me, the enemy designs and how much variation there is.

- In closing: I really want to stress that if you're worried about the seasonal wipes, don't be. In 3 days time i'm nearly done with the season pass. I heard you level faster towards the end of a season, haven't confirmed yet but it was QUICK compared to other games with a similar model. You keep most of your stuff and progress. It will just be another season and help keep things fresh i feel. Try this game, you have nothing to lose but your sleep and sanitation.

I was gifted this after having it on my wish list. Took a couple weeks to get around to playing it but i really enjoy it! I used to work nights at a laundromat with a pinball table and a couple claw machines and used to have dreams of opening my own, but with an emphasis on arcade cabinets. This game is as close as i ever got to realizing that dream lol.

As a 80's and 90's kid it feels like a personal love letter to my generation as well, so it's just a perfect match for me personally. I'm hoping the VR version due out soon, will also make it's way to PC! I said the moment i saw this game "That's perfect for VR!!!"

The only thing that is missing to take this game to the next level (pun intended) would be a way to mod real arcade games i grew up with, into the game. Maybe in the future? Who knows. But right now i'm enjoying my self a lot! Definitely recommend.

I dig this game, but it's definitely better with friends. It's a survival/crafting game so if you played one you kinda played them all. But this is original enough to be it's own thing. Progression is a bit on the slow side as a lonewolf, a lot of grinding for resources and not being able to take any ore or metals for refining through the portal is a bit tedious.

Maybe it's because i've been into this genre since the Alpha of Project Zomboid way back around 2011 or so, but i don't want to spend so much time doing busywork. Other than that, which is likely a personal issue, i highly recommend. Great visuals, controls, dodge is kinda meh, but other than that really solid controls.

The different biomes so far are great, base defense is cool, building is simple and you get better at making things look nice with time as you experiment more and more with using the build features and pieces afforded to you. I started off with a square shack, now i'm in a proper looking viking longhouse of sorts, extra trim on the outside giving that viking feel.

Solid title, i see why it's beloved.

NOPE. Killed my neck within about 3 minutes flat. Extremely limited in how you play, it seems to be only room scale, can't adjust anything. No seated option etc. If you don't mind standing and looking straight down with a weight strapped to your face... go for it.

I have a Vpin, a very nice Vpin, i use it all the time. I don't have to bend my neck to play it nearly as much, and i don't have to strap a weight to my head when i do it. It's a shame because it looks incredible.

This game instantly became my favorite VR game of all time!!! Great gunplay, immersive graphics and sound design, i never played a stalker type game so this is a crash course but my first few days went as follows

Day 1. Touched grass, died. Meme's are total bs.
Day 2. Ate pineapple with a KNIFE like a MAYUN! also died.
Day 3. Went into new zone, fu$%ed around and found out, died.

Things are going GREAT! I have loads of pineapple tins, plenty of knives, thinking the massive yellow crane guarded by a sniper would be a gas to climb at night. Heading out soon!

I played for 7 hours despite hearing how the devs are literally Hitler. seems like a wonderful waste of time. I went into Traverse town then made my way to Midgar, stumbled across a 12 ft Darth Vader dueling a 12 ft General Grievous while a very stoned looking wolf, chilling on the couch, slowly looked up at me, and some chick with fox ears was writing out the alphabet on the wall Aa, Bb, Cc, and she meant BUSINESS... i didn't ask questions and quietly took my leave.

Then i stumbled into a music/light tunnel, had a rave with random strangers, figured out how to copy/paste my own youtube channel playlist and paste it on the wall for the world to see, fell into the backrooms, was chased by a massive... i have no idea what and finished it off with a drink at some random bar while a very angry lady scolded a five nights at freddys character for being a jerk and 4-5 people shamed him.

Edit: AVOID PUBLIC WORLDS AT ALL COSTS!!!

People calling it L4D in VR on youtube... i mean kinda? It's the general idea. But think poor mans L4D without meaningful PvP as infected v survivors on amazingly well balanced maps and varied classes and you're more over the target. I still like it but let's be honest here lol. VR reviews always seem so over the top to me, which again i get it... you're in a stunning environment but it has to be reeled into reality.

What you get here isn't much, you get 6 maps and only a few special infected atm. ONE BOSS... for all 6 maps... one... Because of that reason i don't recommend at full price. I DO recommend it around $20-25 so wait for a sale. I can't leave a middle of the road review, steam demands a yay or a nay. We really need a yellow option, i'm convinced we don't because they can't come up with a cool icon. . .

Just use the L4D hand... see? I can be creative too!

But i digress... this is a solid shooter for VR and a good time for at least a weekend or two. If you like to unlock things probably a lot longer, if you play with friends... infinitely longer, but that goes for just about everything now doesn't it? Expect a connection issue here or there as it seems they use the dreaded peer to peer. I enjoy solo play so that wasn't a big deal for me, but i realize this issue can easily turn a (yes on sale) to a (you couldn't give it to me pal)

If it seems like my feelings on this game are all over the place, it's because they are. VR needs to grow up, it needs to get past this stage of "good nuff" but i'm also willing to support companies for now, hence here i am but you're losing me... i want FULL campaigns, i want many varied maps and enemies to deal with, and i know this can be done on a indie budget because i see indies do it all the time.

If janky player made mods are outpacing you (left 4 Dead VR mod and the many others coming out daily)... you need to get it together as a whole industry. Yes we lack the strong #'s but you still need to bring the proverbial milkshake so to speak. I'm also willing to just leave these kind of games behind FOR those mods if this continues, which is not good for either the customer or the industry so... yeah.
