Good game, I think the first one of the trilogy was better. The story was still interesting, and and entertaining that Lara's Bad Terrible No Good Day continues on a quest for revenge.

This game has some play issues. I had to frequently redo spots because Lara would just miss whatever she was supposed to grab on for no reason. Also some achievements are bugged, for example getting the achieve for collecting all the Baba Yaga documents but missing the achieve for getting half of them.

Early Access Review
Edit 12/19/2024: I have a complaint I want to address, and it's having zero stamina when I respawn from a death. I should spawn in with a full stamina bar and not have to wait for it to refill. It feels like a bug that stamina keeps its previous state when you respawn.

Original: The game is okay in it's current state. It could be compared to Valheim but prettier or Grounded but with some mechanics stripped. Some people compare it to Breath of the wild, but I think that's wrong, it doesn't feel similar to BOTW in my opinion. I'd like to see this game in it's finished state, but currently i would probably recommend waiting to play it.

I will most likely finish the game some day. I'm in no hurry since it's incomplete at this point in time. I will take my time playing it. I'd be more inclined to go all in if it was complete but will pull myself back for now on how much i play staying more cusual and infrequent until it is finished. Its fun enough so far, but games like grounded are a good example of what it could be if they keep improving the game.

Before what follows, I will state that I have made it to Revelwood Spire. I'm going to be a little harsh because it's early access. Some of it will be things I want added or changed. I'll probably come back and make updates if I play more or if it comes out of early access.

The early access version is super easy. I have had no issue with any part of the game so far. Have not really run into any difficult enemies. I have not died to any boss enemy. I was defeating level 10 enemies at level 5 and level 13 enemies at level 7. So enemies far above my level posed no challenge. I play solo, i have no comments in multi-player difficulty, but I imagine it must be easier with more people.

The game is currently full of what I assume are unintended glitches that trivialize moving around the map. There are areas that I'm sure are supposed to be insurmountable, but you can glitch your way up the cliffsides, there is an easily reproducible glitch that basically teleports you up the cliff. You can build and destroy alters at will, which only cost 5 stone to make, so you can always have easy fast travel points wherever you want. Its almost too easy to move around the map at will.

There are no base defense mechanics. Nothing ever attacks your base, there is zero reason to build defenses. There is hunger, but you do not have to eat anything. Eating only provides buffs, which again are not needed for any enemies as they are easy. Everything respawns, want that mine again? Just wait like a day in game and it will be back. I will say that I think the grappling hook costs too much stamina for what it is.

The game is beautiful, but everything is spread out so you mostly just run for 5 or 10 minutes to get to an objective. There aren't really many enemies or obstacles in your way. I almost feel the map is too large and points of interest could have been places closer together. Roaming random enemies would be a nice inclusion.

I do enjoy the skill trees. Some of the skill are really fun. I also enjoy the glider despite my complaints about just running past everything.

Everything said, if you want to play the game go for it. Just remember it's not finished yet and probably still has quite a bit of work on its road map.

Great port or great games, i'm gonna be sure to pick up the DS game collection as well at some point.

I mostly picked this up to play Aria of Sorrow again as that is one of my favorite handheld Castlevania's. Always been a fan of Soma and the non whip weapons and the soul collecting. I think Aria was my first ever Castlevania game as it was.

I quite enjoyed Harmony of Dissonance a lot. Juste was a good protagonist and I enjoyed being able to dash both backwards and forwards. map layout was pretty good and there were two versions of the castle that many later games had.

Circle of the Moon was my least favorite. I dunno, the difficulty is something a lot of people complain about, but I didn't find it too bad. I just wasn't as into the characters and map layout for this one. There was also only one version of the castle so it was shorter.

Of course, I'm not great at Dracula X, but Richter is my favorite Belmont. This one is more of a console game, and has the linearity difficulty and restrictions or the early S/NES games.

I also played the alternate modes for each game. Aria was short, basically bush rush around the castle in about a half hour. Harmony was quick, you could do some speed run glitches to get to the end boss in less than 10 minutes. Circle of the Moon alt mode required a full playthrough. So play each game once, do two of the alt modes in less than an hour, and then a full second playthrough of Circle for all achieves.

Tried Elden Ring when it first came out, played 18 hours grinding the very start knights, then quit.

Years later and convinced to play with seamless coop mod. Was having fun, then super raged at Radahn in discord chat, kept raging until solo killing him. Quit playing again for like 2 months despite pleas to come back because felt like ♥♥♥♥.

Came back again, but now pretty much soloing everything. Entering Leyndell, start coop again a little but still soloing bosses. Find out I'm making the game harder than needed by using multiple scarseals. Just entered the Mountaintop of the Giants.

Playing Astrologer. 10/10 Elden Ring Experience.

Edit:
Solo'd all the Main bosses after Radahn and and the only few I didn't solo were pretty much just the second Astel Stars of Darkness, Dragonlord Placidusax and Malenia who i missed out on even attempting solo.

Elden Ring was definitely a game I never thought I would be able to solo any of, let alone obtain every achievement on.

Dead Rising has been one of my favorite series since it came out. Way back in 2006-ish I stayed up all night in college for 7-day survivor. Then years later played all the games through in co-op with what would become one of my best friends. Then again when the remakes came out on Xbox 1. Now I play Dead Rising again in a new age on my Steam Deck. Dead Rising Portable, who would have imagined. Now I revisit 7-day Survivor not in one sitting, but across an entire week thanks to the pause menu and Steam Decks sleep mode.

I'm going to be skipping DRDR tho, because honestly that's not my frank. look how they massacred my boy with a bad voice actor choice. This is the superior Steam version of Dead Rising.

Original (April 21, 2024):
This is for all you new people. I have only one rule. Everybody fights, no one quits. If you don't do your job, I'll kill you myself! Welcome to the Helldivers!

So you went through training and have just thawed from cryo. Now you think your are ready to spread Managed Democracy in the name of Super Earth. well, I got some things to tell you kid.

Some say the Buggers were provoked by the intrusion of humans into their natural habitat, that a "Live-and-let-live" policy is preferable to war with the Buggers. Those people didn't get to fight the Buggers and Clanks, they were sent to have many lengthy talks with their local Democracy Officer about the reality of this conflict.

Now, I want you to remember that Naked force has resolved more conflicts throughout history than any other factor. The contrary opinion, that violence doesn't solve anything, is wishful thinking at its worst. People who forget that always die. So take your stratagems out there and kill as many Buggers and Clanks as you can. Show them the superiority of Managed Democracy.

Come on you apes! You want to live forever? Freedom doesn't come free!
Make the most important decision of your life. Prove to yourself that you have the strength and the courage to be free. Join...The Helldivers! Become part of an elite peacekeeping force! And spread Managed Democracy throughout the galaxy. Become a Hero! Become a Legend! Become a Helldiver!

Edit (May 6, 2024):
Sweet Liberty! A new dawn brings the news that Super Earth has defeated the first of its many foes in the war against tyrrany. Managed Democracy has prevailed once again. Enjoy your democratically approved 2.3 seconds of downtime enjoying the view from the bridge of your ship, then get back to liberating the galaxy from our other enemies. Those helldivers that don't change their reviews back and return to the fight will be reported to their local Democracy Officers. For Super Earth!

Some initial thoughts as I play this. I want to like it, I love the concept of Teddy Bears protecting children ever since a webcomic of a bear knight protecting a sleeping kid from a shadow monster.

Some gripes I have about this game:
1. There is a skill upgrade for weapon speed. Completely worthless because every enemy has a second or so of invincibility after a hit meaning you literally can't just keep attacking that way.
2. The fairy is more annoying than Navi could ever hope to dream to be and I used to have "Hey Listen" as a notification tone for a time.
3. The castle autoscroll chase is the biggest piece of BS. It's hard to know where to go in the nanosecond it gives you to react and change direction. It's super long with no checkpoints. It's just ends up being 'die 50 times before you figure it out' getting a little further each time if the game mechanics don't make you fail an attempt.
4. Fighting Dark Fairies or anything while flying is terrible. if you make any kind of attack it kicks you out of flying mode and most of the time fall into something that hurts or kills you before you can get it activated again.
5. Mermaid fight is the worst thing so far and i think this is where I'm quitting. the whole underwater level has been the buggiest jankiest mess so far. Half the time I can't even enter a bubble to get up to the mermaid, when I do they only last like 3 seconds before popping. When underwater every attack I made had the bear spinning and finding a new direction to face, so I'd then have to hard turn before I ran into something that hurt me.

I hope the dev's haven't given up on this game, because it could be amazing with some polish. Right now it feels like it's in beta. I can handle difficult, but I'm not looking to play broken janky games.

I am a cult leader!

My duties include cleaning up poop and punishing dissenters. Also I am on a quest for revenge against another cult who sacrificed me, praise the old gods for giving me this chance for vengeance.

First of all, I would not call myself a Harry Potter fan. I saw the movies once and never read the books. I do however love Fantastic Beasts.

That out of the way, I really enjoyed this game and the world of and around Hogwarts. There aren't a lot of games with magic wand combat and I felt this game did it well, it was fluid and fun. I loved flying around the country side on a magic broom. I loved being able to capture beasts and carry a bunch of Nifflers around with me. There were many great cosmetic options to choose from as I was not attached to the Hogwarts school robes. I very much enjoyed each house having a different way to uncover Jackdaws Tomb, with one surprising one even give a small glimpse of Azkaban.

Unfortunately any choices you make in this game are 100% pointless, and the main character seems to only show one of like 2 emotions at any given time and there are no consequences to any of the forbidden spells so I found myself using Imperio in almost every battle, and Avada was great for killing trolls in one shot for the achievement, but I was disappointed it didn't work on some bosses.

I did enjoy the main story, and some characters grew on me. I am now a fan of both Fantastic Beasts and Hogwarts Legacy and would absolutely play a sequel if ever made. I'll have to get on the Potter books soon alongside my niece.
