I wish that I could be constructed purely and entirely out of cardboard and its constituent parts such as the flutes, which are sandwiched between two liners. The cardboard itself is made of a stiff and strong paper known as brown kraft paper, which originates from lumber and wood chips. This means that it is largely made out of cellulose, the main polysaccharide inside of the cell walls of plant cells. Cellulose is made by the Golgi apparatus which uses dehydration synthesis reactions that release water and combine two beta glucose molecules together. Due to the orientation of the beta glucose molecules they alternate being up and down in a cellulose chain. This is the property that makes cellulose indigestible for most mammals. Along with this, cardboard was invented in 1817 in England by the firm M. Treverton & Son. However, the cardboard box was first made the same year in Germany.
