I've played this game on every platform I've owned, but never got around to completing my Steam copy. It's a timeless classic, and must play for anyone who loves environmental storytelling, great art direction, and solid vibes. I've heard the follow-up (Hyper Light Breaker) isn't shaping up to be a worthy successor, and that's a damned shame, as this game is right up there with other classic indie darlings like Bastion, Braid, Hollow Knight, etc.

Anyway, if you haven't played it, play it. If you didn't like it, my bad, and I hope you got it on sale. It's not for everyone, but if it hits right, you'll probably never forget your experience.

Nice little rogue-lite RTS. Not super complex, but deeper than I expected at first glance. Items and starting traits are unlocked randomly via islands with ? symbols, or a banner. It seems like you're expected to fail a handful of times until you get a couple of starting traits, which is more than enough time to get comfortable with the actual RTS micro gameplay. It's basically a rock/paper/scissors between your swordsmen (who eventually can wield shields), archers, and pikes, but eventually the game throws some interesting viking varieties at you that break that mold and require a bit more strategy or micromanagement to deal with. Additionally, knock-down effects are a death-sentence in this game, and even a heavy soldier can be killed by the lowliest bandit if he's on his ass, so position your troops wisely. Definitely worth checking out on sale, and maybe the developers will make a more robust RTS in the future.

It's like if Blizzard actually cared about the reputation of their hero shooter, but with Marvel characters. GG, NetEase.

Why is this free?

As someone who has literally zero investment in the franchise and plays this only with friends, the game is fine. Don't buy anything and support Blizzard, for obvious reasons, but this is a well-made and fun game, built on a squandered IP. Maybe with some time and Microsoft money, the broken promises made by Blizzard can be remedied someday. I wouldn't bank on it, but it would be a pleasant surprise.

After taking way too long fiddling with the audio latency for my headphones (probably just me being derpy), the game plays amazing. I've run into exactly one glitch in the time I've played where some floor textures failed to render properly, but that could also be an issue on my end (I'm playing on a Dell with weird video driver issues).

I've run through the campaign on the normal difficulty once already and plan to keep on going with all the additional content + harder difficulties. Game is hella (no pun intended) good, would absolutely recommend to anyone who likes metal music, rhythm based games, and any Doom game. \m/ \m/

Surprisingly fun if you don't take it too seriously. Just started a few days ago with some buddies in the brawl mode. There is a learning curve, but once you get the hang of things, there's definitely some outplay potential. I haven't put enough hours in to comment on hero balancing, or the game's normal mode, but for the price of free, I have absolutely no complaints.
