I don't know if you read that, but 5 months ago my GPU was R9 290. It was working flawlessly. The problem that some have(a lot are not having that problem) is with newer driver. I don't know the exact driver that caused the problem, but I don't remember having a lot of people saying there was abysmall perf with their AMD GPU on the official WMD forum. So I guess 2-3 drivers back should be OK. AMD has acknowledged that it was a driver's fault, and they are working on it(beeing helped at the same time by SMS).
SMS is working of other paches to fix bugs that were discovered last week.
It's not perfect now, but rest assured they are doing their best to get the game as good as they can. Some feature are still missing but are planned for later date to be added(like safety cars/ pit crew/ timed races / etc).

I have a MSI R9 270X at 1080Mhz, I have no lag in all of the games I currently play, but seeing the issues people been having with AMD Drivers, I wonder if I'm going to get any and if I should buy the game now, or wait untill it is more stable. Also, can you tell me if the drivers which are having issues are old drivers, or newer drivers? I have Catalyst 14.9, some build from June 2014, are drivers this old prone to problems? Hello, I've recently read a post of you ("For those who have AMD GPUs") and I would like to ask you a few questions (1 or 2) about PCars on my GPU, if you wouldn't mind answering. I have no idea on how to send PMs, so I did it here... I apologise.
