Fun game with beautiful pixel art and fun secret of mana-like enemies. I love how you can progress even if you fail, which you will, a lot. Pretty addictive and fun gameplay too. Fun to explore the mines.

I would definitely get crushed by a gold mine mimic rock monster again.

I took a gamble and pre-ordered the game on Friday before release. Started playing the pre-release of it... 13 hours later and having bought the game for my cousin so we can play together, I can't get enough of it. Seriously, it scratches all the itches:

- Dark Souls, but as a gears of war or left 4 dead style co-op shooter.
- Procedurally generated campaign you can reload and find new objectives, bosses, and items in.
- Really unique enemies and situations
- Fun, professionally voiced characters
- Interesting weapons (Though the starting weapons are a bit drab).
- Leveling up and being able to be who or what you want over time (You can find traits from other classes in game)
- Difficult but fun in both solo and co-op
- Multiple different worlds to fight in, all unique in their own way (With earth being post-apocalyptic. Seriously don't judge the rest of the game by Earth. The first level of Earth is a bit drab, but once you hit the subway, everything gets really interesting).
- Interesting lore
- Unique ideas I've never seen in games. Such as rotating random bosses instead of set ones, gear that is not only functional, but useful in completing quests in different ways, and one of the coolest things I've seen: If your buddy is reading a lore terminal, you can read over his shoulder alongside with him. What he sees shows up on the computer screen he's using for other players too.
- You can buy all the gear from other classes if you want.
- Pretty decent graphics! Enemies are very diverse and made up of multiple races. Some of them are terrifying to behold in dark hallways!
- Lots to explore and discover. Some quests have fail conditions or alternate solutions that you will learn for your next run!

As for cons:
- Boss adds make soloing really hard, but you can still make it
- Some environments, because they are procedurally generated, show up again, but you won't notice this much if you don't reroll to grind a lot.
- Might take a little learning and ramping up before you really get into it. I promise it's worth it after a while.

Overall, Remnant From the Ashes was a surprise hit for me that came out of nowhere.
It's great solo, great MP, great for those who like to find secrets, and fight terrible, eldritch monsters. If you like Dark Souls, or third person shooters or co-op, get it!

Game was initially fun, but it seems you don't really have a chance to win unless somehow you're of starcraft esport champion skill. It's too hard to build up fast enough to have a chance to defend yourself. Eventually a wave comes that wipes out just enough of your economy that even if you survive and have double walls, you just can't come back from that. Even co-op where we could really put love into our economy it just seems like the difficulty ramps up faster than you can handle it. Stuff is too expensive and resources too slow coming in.

It's a fun game, it just needs to have a few more things in the player's favor. Especially if the player isn't an esport champion or masochist.

I was not prepared for how fun this game is. for anyone who loves RTS games like Company of Heroes. It's really AAA quality.
The music, graphics and voice work are fantastic, and being able to jump into the battle in a cinematic view and see all the amazing detail is a blast.

Yes, it has its issues. It doesn't have a lot of variety in troops, its mission structures are similar, and historical accuracy is hit and miss, but it's a blast to play, and very medieval if you like medieval stuff. I recommend it, being a historic and RTS buff. You will enjoy its moodiness and each of the cool factions and campaigns based of historical events.

Alith Anar is what you get when Legolas and Tauriel have a baby. The dude is amazing, has one of the most fun playstyles in the game (Shadows, stealth, and his own elite shadow walkers with poison arrows, and he just oozes coolness. Fun fact: He is voiced by Dylan Sprouse (The brother of Jughead from Riverdale).

Also the price: Free. 11/10

I am a huge Total War fan. I've played and beaten campaigns in every Total War since the original Shogun 1. I had to refund this one though and here's why:

1. The strategic layer's UI is too complex. This is really weird. Not only did CA increase strategic complexity and make the UI more full of stats and options but they also made it hard to understand all the systems. There is no new tutorial to help you with the new systems, and even in battle, the unit cards don't tell you as much about the unit as a Total War Warhammer unit card does. It's baffling how they could add so much complexity, and not even explain it.
Every element that gives me info is smaller and harder to find, and instead of using icons and things, you just get dots, so you really can't see what's going on with a settlement unless you click on it.

2. All the minor settlements confuse the map. They make your empire look bigger it is, but they are actually only able to do a few things, and once you figure out they can be destroyed easily by a passing army, they feel like too many indefensible resources to enjoy.

3. The vassal system, research system, and other systems just aren't explained well. I'm not even sure what I'm supposed to do for my vassals. And to unlock research takes a lot of figuring out and planning. The family system is equally obscure.

4. We just visited this era in Attila, and although this takes a focus on Britain alone, it's still just too similar.

5. The unit diversity is non-existent. There are very few unique units, and again, we have a bunch of very similar looking barbarians with axes and swords and it's hard to tell them apart in combat.

What it has going for it is fun battles (Despite not knowing the difference between units really), fun sieges, beautiful campaign map, and wonderful music. I can't recommend the game, even to a total war fan like me. It's too different on the strategic layer, too busy and complex without enough simple UI design to figure things out, and the diversity in factions and units is just too weak.

I was so excited for the release of Surviving Mars! A city/survival sim based on Mars? How can it go wrong? Unfortunately, it did. I had to return this game.

My first gripe is that scrolling while your camera was zoomed enough to see the sky and mountains is way too slow, but
there is something far more frustrating: The gameplay.

For the life of me, I could not figure out how to get drones to do what I wanted them. I could move them around from time to time to get them somewhere they were needed, but even if I took a transport full of resources, sometimes, they just would not finish my pipes or do the job they were told to do. There's no control. It's very clunky building using these drone. I never even got my first biodrome built, because I had such a hard time connecting power to everything and running out of resources to build things. Sure a few more rockets later I had the resources, but this game has a horrible tutorial and horrible UI. It's impossible to figure out what's going wrong with your drones. Even when I put things high priority, they would prefer to go move resources around in my depots.

Meanwhile, my buildings started deteriorating and I just gave up. The game needs a proper tutorial to explain its complicated systems, and better AI and drone systems. I couldn't even get to the point I had human colonists, because I could never finish my water pipe system and produce oxygen.

I will watch the game and see what Haemimont Games and Paradox does. Hopefully they improve it. I've played more than enough of these kinds of games in the past, and am a huge fan of planet coaster and Tropico and City Skylines. This game though, it just has bugs, or technical problems or just needs better ai and easier systems to get started.

Far Cry 5 is a surprise for me. I didn't really like Far Cry 4, and I am tiring of open world games since my time is limited, but Far Cry 5 keeps me coming back time and time again. It has such fun experiences, amazing music that mixes stardew valley, christian country and western, and Deliverance banjos, and has fun villains that are chillingly twisted. Then there's this:

I saved a girl from a group of cultists. She gets attacked by a turkey and runs off. The turkey turns on me, but gets shot by another cultist, I run after the girl because she's now getting eaten by a cougar, I kill the cougar and rush back to finish off the cultist, only to find he was killed by two more turkeys, who game charging at me and killed me. That was a turkey shoot in favor of the turkeys!

This describes the zaniness of most encounters in Far Cry 5. It's so fun to play in this beautiful sandbox. Hope county is idyllic and peaceful. It feels like you're camping in the woods when you are out there, it feels like a great american outdoor adventure, and yet, this bliss can be in the next instant torn up by crazy cultists blasting hymns and banjo music from loud speakers out the back of their cars.

The story isn't the best, but the larger than life Seed family guarantees it is an absolute hoot the whole time, and you will enjoy frustrating each of their designs, and finally hunting them down and saving the good people of Hope county from these twisted televangelists, shepherds, and prophets.

Far Cry 5's soundtrack is one of the best I've ever heard. Its music has meaning for both the resistance and the cultists, and there is a hymn and pop rock/country version of each song. You'll find a lot of deep stuff in there, if you can ever leave the pause menu (Which has one of the most wonderful tracks in a video game and is a joy to just sit and listen to).

Far Cry arcade, the gamemode and level editor produces some of the most fun experiences as well. Like a map full of cougars that turns out to be a puzzle to survive. It's fun to stretch your creativity in that mode and see what other people came up with.

Far Cry 5 is my surprise favorite game of the year so far. And with DLC that promises more hijinks in crazy locations like Mars and 1960s vietnam (Which totally tie into the main story and some of the side quests, if you dig deep enough and discover it), I can see the game lasting me a long time. I like living in Hope county. Hope you'll join me in taking on Eden's Gate!

I love Total War Warhammer 2. I got 47 wonderful hours out of it. It's an improvement over TWW1 in every way, except for the fact that once the ME update game out, the game broke completely and I haven't been able to play it since, with crashes on boot up every time. And even when I use CA's solutions, it crashes during battles and LL selection on the Campaign screen.

For over a month, I've been unable to play, and CA has made no indications in any of their forums of fixing this issue (and I'm definitely not the only one having the issue). It also has weird graphical issues, like halo like auras and shadows around the units. It's just not polished like the first game, and is the first video game in years I've ever had a problem with. Even TWW works just fine.

As a result of this, I cannot recommend the game. If it works for you, fantastic! It's amazing and the best TW game to date with a lot of potential! But I can't support it anymore because its developers don't support it and don't care if their customers aren't able to play it.

Wolfenstein II is a great game. It has fantastic gameplay and production values. But unfortunately, its narrative supports racism even as it claims to fight it.

Normally, I am not bother by game stories or politics, and I'm no SJW or extremist, I just really get bothered by hypocracy, and the narrative was spoiled by the political agenda of the writers.

On on hand, Wolfenstein II continues BJ blazkowicz's fight against tyranny, bigotry, and fascism. We expect the Nazis to be evil, and we have no compunctions fighting the good fight against them.

However, suddenly BJ, our white protagonist (Who is stated early on in game to be a perfect example of the aryan race by the villain), now hates whites. WTH? He was actually decent most of the first part of the game, up until he met our other racist protagonist, Grace Walker.

The instant he runs into Grace Walker, she starts flinging racial slurs about his skin color and strong BJ just let her tirade against his race, taking it like a victim. Oddly enough, in the next scene, BJ himself turns racist suddenly and without any previous tendency, and says about the nazi and kkk alliance that "Those white <expletive> are gonna die". It's just totally unreal and stupid.

He didn't refer to the enemy as nazis, or fascists, or KKK members, or even white supremacist (none of whom should ever be supported). No, he only referred to them by their skin color. It's flat-out racism right there! Bethesda, I thought you were against this crap? I'm shocked you haven't been called out on this already and crucified by the media.

Now, this has soured my opinion of the game and Bethesda. The politics in the game are very hypocritical. You fight racism as a character that for some nonsensical reason has become the very thing he fights, a racist. If you can get past that, or just want to shoot up a bunch of enemies in a really well made game, by all means buy it and play. It's a great game. I loved the gameplay and the progression system and even some of the characters like Fergus.

In conclusion, unlike it's amazing predecessors, games that don't take things too serious and are just fun FPS games with great characters, Wolfenstein II: The new Colossus's story is marred by hateful political agenda. if that bothers you, stay far away.
