Today's technology makes even a turd graphically appealing. But ultimately, any amount of sugar coating cant hide all the piles of dung hidden within a flawed game.

EA Criterion is no better. They created an idiotic cop chase trash game. You are spending more time driving away from cops than racing. The stupid after race cop chase start is also retarded with your gear reset to first gear. And finally, all this and the buy in price makes it a retarded money grind game.

While the quality of art design and visual presentation is subjective, I quite like the characters design. But the retarded effects are distracting. It probably saved some dev time as drawing anime is easier than actually model real human.

The rest is pretty much the same NFS shenanigans with cheating ai and player start at race with last position.

The heat was playable other than the retarded cops AI that spawn right behind you. This game however, took it further by spawning directly in front of you. They hired lazier or dumber AI programmer?

Being an arcade racer, the game's races are randomly polluted with accidents etc. Winning or not does not only depend on how good or bad you are as a driver, but also requires luck. Your seemingly perfect run can turn disastrous when a cop or traffic spawns right in front of you ruining all immersion.

crappy gameplay

Why buy this when you can play the nioh series. Or even better, play monster hunter world.

Just watch the anime content on youtube.

ultimately just another game of very low quality from omega force.
The comically bad shallow gameplay is good enough to carry you through the story on easy mode.

You decide if it's worth it to play it once to get the story of seaon 1 to 3.

The repetitive bad gameplay does not warrant the time to spend on grinding bullet sponge harder difficulties.
The game is not cheap even on sale.

The only thing that's ever good or worth playing from KOEI are the ROTK series or the NIOH actions series.

only recommend if you can get it cheap.

This is still an amateur dev designed game. At least they listen to feebacks.
No point playing at higher difficulties.

Dumb designs:
1. unrealistic parked car physics. Can be push away by a base fence opening. This makes barricades impossible.
2. inconsistent platforming. some cars rocks objects you cant climb, some you can. Cant tell which is which
3. resets car placement? I want to barricade my entries, and the game keeps putting my parked cars somewhere else.
4. shallow gaming experience, even with the final buggy crash-prone curveball update.
5. no true open ended open world mode. sure you can keep playing by not finishing legacy mission, but why design this way?
6. dumb ai teammates. better bring alone a real human for coop. Illogical survival instinct behavior to not climb up to safety, but rather die downstairs.
7. retarded zombie spawning programming
8. retarded sleeping game design. so you down to one survivor and cant sleep on a higher safety area that has a bed?
9. buggy glitchy story missions.
10. dumb missions due to dumb npc ai

Pro.
1. open world zombie game, for open world fans, but no true endless mode
2. meaningful character skill progression.
3. arcady, but somewhat easy to control vehicles
4. migration gameplay moving from one map to the next, too bad only limited amount of maps.
5. mod support - so play on easist difficulty but use mod to spawn extreme number of zombies. you cant whack a mole all of them.

Garbage balance, bullet sponge grind. Made for group play, which is what monster hunter is about.

Faster monsters showed the broken flawed and clunky movement design of the sheath mechanism. This is no dark souls difficulty. It is simply just cheap.

The base game is alright; however, the dlc is hot garbage plagued by uneven difficulty spike.

Bow is useless in the dlc. People say dont use it until end game. What kind of crappy design is this?

Only recommended in a cheat bundled price.

Dark Souls like build variety grinding, without too much reliance on random luck like Diablo.

Review will be changed to not recommended if they add Enigma

This review does not include Iceborne dlc, which sucks.

another interesting take on game play but ultimately just stupid game designs for no fun gameplay.
This is the 3rd title after kingdom come, Outward that just appeal to only a very niche crowd. The only indie I had good experience is no man's sky.

Better research more before buying all these so called great indie titles, which only appeal to a specific niche crowd. It's not for everyone.

You are forced to do something, in this game, sell for money if you dont want to get hardlocked and need to start from scratch. Apparently, some more designed gamplay ways to failed a game and need to restart for this game.

Not my kind of time wasting game to play. But I paid for it, so I finished it and got the good ending. I also played it without any mods to fixed the vanilla experience, a rare thing for indie.

This game is another unique indie take on rpg.
But it almost made it to my shee-it list like kingdom com deliverance.
The debug mode saved the game for me providing reload of prior saves to retry a failed encounter.

You need to research well before paying with your hard earned money and left with something you dont want to play or waste time on.

The presentation is below double A standard. Everything provided is just good enough to get the gameplay going.
Sometimes I feel like I'm playing a zombie nation, maybe that's intended for the I suppose post apocalypse setting.

I'd say only recommend the game for hardcore fans or anyone who has too much time on their hands, or only play one game due to budget.

The gameplay is mostly based on survival mode. And that is the priority over every other features available in the game.
The survial aspect will get in the way of everything you do in this game. So it is tedious by nature.
If you dont like survival games, then you can move on to better games now.

The combat is a mixed bag. You need to forget what you experienced like darks souls/elden ring, nier automata, other hack and slash games
The combat is based on something called weapon impact. The higher the value for one weapon, the better chance you can stagger an enemy, even trash mobs relies on this stat.

The bosses are straight up cheating by design. You either use the environment to cheese the encounter or fight at range if possible.
This is terrible design and why many think the combat in this game is garbage. I somewhat agree after getting a manticore kill using pistol and bow to get the starchild two handed sword.
Even with this somewhat higher tier weapon, you can still die in very few hits from a boss. But, this is no elden ring. The combat has no weighted feel.
This is certainly not nier automata, the combat is shallow and clunky, even with the skills provided you can learn from masters.

Once you fail an encounter, you get to randomly spawn in one of each region's death alternative scenarios. This can be good to randomly spawn in areas you can loot chests early game to get a better weapon.
This can also be good to let you quickly spawn at a town, usually where you are going.
This can also be terrible if you are fighting a boss, and get spawned all the way back in town or somewhere so far away, it feels like crap.
The worst offender is when you get a captured event, and your armor set get put in a nearby puzzled ruin chest. I believe if you wear new armor after and die again, the chest get overwritten and you just lost you precious high tier armor set.
This capture event is immersive by design, but retarded gameplay wise.

Being a survival game means there is no map guidance other than a static map shown where roughly each point of interest is located. You have to traverse the region multiple times to get your direction and sense of where you are heading.
Even then, in some regions, like the forest area, you simply get lost. The quest journal is terrible, but i guess better than games not providing one at all.

The RPG aspect is designed for multiple character playthroughs. There is no character skill reset/respec. You can mod it if you want to get more breakthrough point (locked at 3 in vanilla). For me though, I got better games to play then to play this one from scratch again, even if you can transfer item and use the legacy system for new character.

All in all, don't expect anything spectacular from an indie game. Some call indie are garbage and why most of them are cheaply priced. Some may find something special from an indie game.
Most of time though it's a complete waste of investment money and time wise.

Last note, there is only one word to describe the three brothers dlc, now included as part of definitive edition - "GARBAGE"

a seemingly immersive game, but ultimately just a shallow kickstarter garbage.

A game designed by idiots. And you can mod away most of those idiotic game designs.

But too bad you cannot add in missing expected gameplay features since no mods exist like that.

This trash is the best example of a half-azzed product. Every gameplay is half broken and just there to say it has this gameplay.

Played a bit more and can safely say this is just a prototype of what they wanted to create. The good thing is i didn't pay too much to buy the royal edition. But still almost a waste of money.

The story so far might be bearable, but certainly not worth the torture to get through the gameplay to reach the story bits. Buy something else more polished and dont waste your time, unless you paid for it already.

This product reminds me of the metro series, while being immersive, neglected the designs that make a game fun.
