TLTR, buy it on sale as it's not really a fun package overall.
I bought both shadow games for less than $10 each, but overpaid this one with $25. I should have waited for less than $15 like what you could have bought nowadays with a sale.

very much like some reviewers said, there is really just ONE way to solve a bigger puzzle. Sure the encounters might be random as it's cone alert zone watch and time based. But overall, you are really forced fed a particular direction to the end. You do the same peel onion layers one by one routine for each mission, until the whole thing is dismantled.

The story telling might be the only saving grace for this types of games. The rest is really just the same trial and error boring gameplay testing your patience more than your intelligence.

While I liked Shadow tactics, even with the same painfully boring repetitive gameplay, I realized the only charm is the presentation. Desperados is similar in that the presentation is quite attention grabbing, but the gameplay sucks when you look deeper. In addition, it's a game afterall, so there is nothing immersive about the game design.

Mimimi has shutdown its business, good riddance perhaps? They obviously impressed some fans, but ultimately, the game play failed to appeal to the general public. It's another niche game that only few can endure..

I paid $22 for this new bundle since, i dont have the original $5 purchase anymore for some reason.

so I guess I paid $12 for this turd dlc.

crappy mechanics with memory leak slowdown already experienced in the early dungeon of the dlc.
the dlc cutscene again has no sound on windows 11.

Old school rpg with outdated game designs and graphics. From crappy combat to no cutscene sound, this game has its share of miserable gameplay experience.

The plus is you get to roam around in a zone based open world like skyrim(but with ugly visual) with big map leading into small maps of dungeons and caves. There are plenty of side quests, but most are repetitive fetch quests, like Skyrim.

The RPG offers free form build but the combat simply sucks even if it is action based.

The only thing worth mentioning is really just the amount of quests you get to do at will.

no more purchase of garbage games from THQ. I'd rather donate to some charity than giving a single cent to the publisher of crappy games.

a refined experience from the base game, but if you dont like old school isometric crpg, you will stiill dislike its game design.

The RTS is still pointless.

Barely playable and only can recommend when bought on sale

Good thing is the third entry and its expansion are dirt cheap on sale and that make it worth a try for new player to this series. buy it on sale. I wouldn't recommend to waste both your time and money, if you buy at full price.

A unique take on RPG/strategy hybrid. As a controller player, the control scheme is playable but very rough around the edges. Dont expect anything similar to the Larian's work.

Being a jack of all trades (two in this case) the combination offers a unique gaming experience. But the RTS section is a total failure. Both portions of the game are playable but not spectacular.

The RPG is old school top down isometric. It has many good and bad. Voiced dialogues is a plus, npc uses player character protrait just shows how lazy the dev did some of the work in some aspects.

The RTS has its own spin of management and combat, but ultimately a total unbalanced mess. The RTS section is pretty much a fake RTS experience. It has atrocious balance issues to be even considered worth playing. The only motivation left is the story element. so you can either play on easy or use mods to make the experience a little better. Yes the heros can be overpowered when spec'd correctly and take over the whole map with just your party and a few trash soldiers. So what's the point of RTS?

Neither of these two game play elements can match even the average titles of each genre available on the market.

The overall presentation is passable with good enough visual and details.

The UI is some of the worst you can find on the market but it gets the job done.

All in all, this title shows what you get when an amateur studio develops a game.

But to be honest it is expected that THQ publishes subpar to garbage level titles.

Game designed by idiots.

The one pro is open world map is more to scale.

The rest are either downgrade or outright awful.

This results in terrible gameplay experience.

Trash game play design.

You cant skip the long azz startup/login sequence.
Game can crash for no reason like some other games that have memory leak slowdown and crash eventually. This game runs fine but just crashes.

Grappling hook is useful and feature of this franchise, but it's retarded to have no basic sprinting.

Control of the Jetpack you get from dlc is the best example of stupid flight experience.

Overall, It's a $5 purchase to torture yourself kind of gaming experience.

Yes it's old and crappy console design. JC 4 appears to be even crappier experience.

The design of challenges in this game is similar to those from the xbox./ps3 era. If you want cancer, you are welcome to try complete them,

A game that starts with a glorified tutorial disguised in story format.
A game that has less what you can do compared to minecraft.
A game confined to console game design standard.
A game you get to play as many times as you want with the building mechanics for end game.

It's a poor man's minecraft not by price, but by features.

old school rpg with finely crafted visual presentaiton.

The rest is just bad to soso.

It's good enough to play if you can find it cheap.

The auto battle is a simplified version of FF 12. The UI and item management is atrociously bad.
The performance is quite stable.

The true final boss requires boring grind.

All in all, it is a fairly lengthy linear kiddy rpg with young adultish story.
