Review updated to reflect previous review bomb
and because I put in 4k+ hours (!!)

This game has a ridonkulous amount of content. None of the story or Warframes are locked behind a paywall, one can even earn premium currency in-game by selling drops. If you are down for hours of mindless grinding, Warframe can provide that and then some. When one invests time and patience into Warframe, options open up to become near invincible in certain situations and one can zoom around maps with ease. When a good build comes together, the sense of satisfaction is quite gratifying. The vast quantity of options and the power-scaling are absolutely insane, with years and years of content, there's something there for any and every playstyle. You can be a sneaky ninja delivering silent death, you can be an invincible bastion the absorbs damage with many ways to redeliver the punishment, you can be a healing fountain dispensing health in many different fashions.. You can be a cowboy, a rock, bird, dog, really fast guy, a rock again (mineral), a fairy that actually flies around the level at butterfly scale...

You can have a doggo/catto and even a horse, you can get a customizable mech and even a customizable starship that allows you to befriend or hire crew to man the various stations on said ship. There's even a hoverboard that you can whip out and do *sick* stunts on.

The game does have some jank to it though. Mission instances are hosted by a random player in the squad, and if the host has a poor connection, weird things can happen. The menus and star map also feel like they could use a redesign. The game does have some pretty long build timers, but the foundry can queue up whatever you build with only your blueprint quantity and resources as a limiting factor. I think the game would be better off if they'd have an option to disable the "Rush" option for crafting though. And while we're at it, I don't want to see Warframes I don't have built for sale in my arsenal. It feels kind of scummy, but the monetization was set in place around 2013, and followed suit with other games at the time, so I guess I get why things are the way they are. There's a lot that could be nitpicked about the game, but it has entertained me for almost a decade on & off.

Having introduced the game to many players and walking through the new player experience with them, I will say the game is by far easier to get into than Destiny 2. However, it is very daunting having so much to learn and so many different and unique mechanics at play. With the huge bulk of content, it will take some effort to absorb it all. This is one of those games where you will want the wiki up on the second monitor, however the game is well documented with drop tables painstakingly curated and updated with clear percentages. Warframe delivers content with an air of mystery for those who would prefer that. Those who wish to separate themselves from the wiki will find the in-game information to be rather robust, as well as access to Q&A channels with bots available to answer the most common questions like where "x" drops or when and where is Baro.

In regards to the notorious AOE nerf update..
AoE nerf isn't a thing if you just play the game normally.

It is possible to earn platinum by selling drops to other players. Due to not being able to sit in a corner and hold the fire button, a lot of platinum farmers have been made upset. If you're wondering why there was a major negative response to the game, it was simple as that. The update barely affected normal gameplay.

All things considered, DE has done well to curate an awesome community and has managed to captivate the interest of many for a decade, and the updates are still coming. If you want a game to designed to entertain you for years, Warframe could definitely be it. Unlike other games, it's definitely not "too late" to check it out.
