After the debacle of Aliens: Colonial Marines, I steered clear of other aliens games. A friend got me this game for Xmas, and I gave it a shot.

If you want a true, TRUE survival horror game in the alien universe, this is the one to get. Though you get weapons, you can't truly kill the creature.

Here's a short list of pros/cons:

Pro:
*Gorgeous graphics that are top notch
*Optimized quite well (I have a decent mobo and cranked things to the max)
*Alien encounters are random and add to suspense
*Original style music for the game true to the first Alien movie
*Great atmosphere

Cons:
*Alien encounters have a set-scripted start. Kinda detracts from things.
*Saving is a pain since it's done in game (a la Resident Evil style) - Can wipe a good progress
*Alien behavior can be trollish at times

Overall, I'd give this a solid thumbs up. For the true thrill seeker, play at night with all the lights turned off in the darkest part of your house.
