It boggles the mind how a large studio with vast resources like Bethesda manages to create something as dull and lifeless as Starfield (scratch that - no it doesn't, money and capitalism corrupts everything completely).

When I look up at the stars or see a new image from the Webb telescope of Space I am gripped by a feeling of awe and wonder. Yet somehow Bethesda managed to make Space boring. And that's the best adjective to describe Starfield. It's boring.

The game is good looking enough, the graphics are actually pretty at times, and the engine is not the usual Bethesda jank-fest either.

No-matter, it's still boring.

Some of this can probably be pinned on a young dev-crew desperate to appease woke ideals, avoiding anything and all that could arouse the scorn of safe-spacers. -I mean, just look at the in-game fashions, for example! This is supposed to be the future in space, with numerous new and exciting technologies at mankind's disposal, and yet the fashions come across as a blend of soviet, muslim, and as buttoned-down and a-sexual as you wouldn't believe.

Anyhow, I bought it at release, I played it and screen-shotted Starfield for a month or so, and then I stopped playing it. Haven't played it since or thought about it until now.

Because it's just... boring.
