It is a gunpla builder first and a game second. That said, I did enjoy playing through the story and missions with my own Gundam very, very much.
Visual vise it looks good, not breathtaking but good. Battle is simple but enjoyable. Missions are all stage 1-2-3 kill enemies, done, and are short as well.
Story is ok, but nothing special, does not live up to its full potential.
It is a must for gundam lovers, and a check out for people interested in gundam.
Is it worth full price? No. But definitely worth at a discount.

Until this Kernel-mode anti-cheat is not removed it is not worth to buy this. It no longer runs on linux and on steam deck.

Playing with a controller. I enjoyed WRC9 very much. It felt fair I had a fun time. I figured I'll try Generations as I wanted some Legacy fun. Well, the only thing I regret about this is that I didn't buy it through steam so I can't refund it. Luckily I got it on a discount but this is not even worth that.
Even if you get used to the controls (where the braking distance is 2-3x that of the one in wrc9) the game is just unrealistic and unfair. Be prepared to go bankrupt if you are new to this game in your career, as even if you don't make a mistake. The CPU just aces every stage even on medium. So if you want to win you have to run without a mistake and pedal to the metalbaby, even the slightest slowness will drop you to the last place.
But you will make a mistake. Bc the stage has invisible bumpers and black ice. No matter the speed there are spots where you WILL slide out of control and spots that WILL flip your car in the most unrealistic of ways. (Think Skyrim)
Physic took a step back in this. Controllability took a step back. And I can't believe it but the graphics also took a step back. Oh and the Career tutorial also became a joke compared to WRC9.

Avoid this one.

Visuals: Great.
Story: X-Files episode. (Interesting connection to Alan Wake if you have dlc)
Sounds: Great.
Combat: Average shooter.

Control has an interesting story, but not nearly as atmospheric as say Alan Wake. Which is in the same universe as this or is it? ;)
Be prepared to die on bs bosses like the Former and the Mold over and over and over again, which are sidequest bosses...... This in itself would not be a problem but you lose 10% of your resource when you die.
Oh there is also the black screen bug that might affect you and has not been addressed in 3 years by the devs.

But if you look past that, like I wrote in short, Control does have a interesting x-files style story, great looking visuals, and great sound. Just don't expect gameplay wise more than an average shooter with some force powers, I especially love the "These are not the droids you are looking for" skill. Run here-kill-activate control point-run-kill-story-control point and repeat.

The game can be fun. But, there is one serous issue that is not universal. This game overheats your system like the afterburner on a Typhoon. Every other game I run has the gpu 50-60c tops, this one 85-90c. I played until I had a pc crash and restart, it said, pc stopped because of cpu overheating. This is the only game in my library that does this. So play it in a freezer then you will have no issues. Play it in the summer and you might have to replace some parts in your pc.

This could have been a great game. Sadly it is not even a good one. p2w, no anti cheat. Play it if you don't mind waiting for a match for min. 5 minutes and decide for yourself. 0 sense of joy when playing it.

Play it once to get through the story, then never again. Btw even the story feels like a cheap fanfic that was put together in an afternoon.

Want to feel like a Jedi, here's your chance before Fallen order. A.I. can be tricked in more than one ways but then what? Seeing that this is a game from the 2000's when the Quake 3 engine was the bomb you don't have to fear system requirements. Still as much of a fun to play as back then.
