Where to start... Lets start at why do companies have to always go back to the start of a game? I guess you have a small group of vocal people that think the game was the very best when the game first came out. Sad but true these people hate change and options. The very beginning of Battletech was limited and got boring fast and so is this game. That is why you see so many playing the game with the rogue mod. Why? Because they want more options. Options like you got later when battletech grew. More weapons, more mechs more everything. So that covers my first flaw. Starting with the very limited tech was a bad choice IMO.

Second flaw... the campaign is short and is quite bland. The story is flat and not very interesting and the mercenary line has been beat to death. They could of came up with a way better story and got away from the same old you are running your own mercenary company.

Lastly the game is too easy as the AI is not very good. The only time I had a problem is when they give you a protect mission and they send 12!!! that is right 12 heavy mechs to attack a few buildings and you are supposed to stop them. And they ALWAYS went for the buildings. No way to stop that when one heavy mech alpha can pretty much take one building down in a round.

So in the end the game is ok if it is on a deep sale but I would not recommend it unless it is $10.00 or less. Problem is steam has no middle ground for reviews. I give it a 4/10.

Update:
They should update the timeline so they can add clans as that would give the game a lift and draw in more players. As it is now the latest DLC "Urban Combat" is not highly liked.
