So this game was really hyped up by critics and users admitting that it was a one trick pony but a game that did it really well. I disagree. Portal was such a game, this is not.

What they did well was the story. It was short, took only a small part of the gameplay and means whatever you want it to mean. A lot of people complained about it but without it there would be almost no variation.

The idea itself is of course the main selling point and I like it. The problem is this. The challenges and story mode are puzzles. not shooters. and these are puzzles not so much of thinking but of not accidently move the mouse to far or cramp your finger on the keyboard. This gets frustrating slightly too often. Also, whenever you can stand behind a cover and wait for the enemy, you will. It is super easy if you manage to find such a place.

The other big thing is endless mode. Here the levels and the extremely sparse environment gets distractingly dull. There is no gameplay except finding that spot where you can camp and just kill them off for achievements.

If this was a “puzzle side part” of a proper shooter with this “you move, the game moves” as their unique “bullet time” I would probably praise it. This is however the whole game.

I leave this game with the same feelings my mother did as she left me, empty and disappointed.

This is a free upgrade. Why are you even asking me? Download it all!

Why is this game NOT good!?!

The puzzles are mostly fine if a tad boring. But I just can't stand how they took a cool premise and made nothing out of it.

Here is the thing for me. You are a small boy getting to become a prodigy for this amazing wizard bunny. He teaches you to travel to other worlds. First you enter a slightly different place than what you call home with the biggest difference of you being tiny like a mouse. The town and its people are animal like rabbits, owls and frogs. The artwork looks really nice as the adventure embarks... ... ...

You NEVER go away more than 2 frames in to the other worlds. These worlds are empty and you just go there and get one thing and then leave. Every world should've been a chapter. What you uncover in the end is a really strong story that would of been stronger if you played more of a part in it or replayed some of the history (the history that unveils not repeating the game itself) in new ways.

Also, the climate propaganda was a bit in the face. Don't get me wrong. I myself are actively fighting for the climate and know that we are in a climate collapse in the making. I just think that you can do it a little more subtle. Especially since you had dimension-walking. Imagine if one world was dirty and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ in the artwork and the people a bit anti-science and/or fascist and then you had a more scientific and/or more democratic world with artwork full of life in it. In the first nature sticks out as colourfull niceness and in the second one trash sticks out as a sore thumb. This is just one way to say the same thing but with style.

With a premise of you being able to walk among the stars to visit all corners of the world (like Rick and Morty but more fantasy and less sci-fi) it's a bit disappointing to just go back and forth in the same place.

This game is a crazy up the walls mayhem with swords and machine guns.

Actual review:
The game keep itself fresh by throwing in some magic and adding monsters and weapons as you go along. The story is shallow and not very special but that's not why you buy this game. The main character is silly 90's kind of character with a nice dynamic with its demon "friend". The silly old style is mostly fine but does come out as a bit outdated at times. The two female assassins you meet are of course oversexualized just for the sake of it. It's so overdone that you can laugh at it. I'm not convinced however that it's suppose to be funny. I think the characters are there to make you horny.

Another downfall is its length. The game is pretty repetitive and should of been slightly shorter so not to overstay its welcome. This is especially true in the first half where I felt that I just waited for some new guns to come along.

Also. The maps where mostly versatile and fun but I did find myself lost at two or three times closer to the end.

So. The game is a tad too slow in the first half but you should buy it. I mean where else could you be slaughtered by a bunny for shooting its partner mid intercourse? (I still have nightmares.)

This is a Part of half life 2 and is indeed great. This is indeed a must buy for anyone. I do have som grimes with this episode though.

- It does feel a lot like a bridge between the original game and episode 2. It is that but shouldn't show so clearly.
- The game starts of a bit slow which is fine by itself since it came out some time after the original game. But if you like me play it straight after the original, it is slightly frustrating.
- You will feel nerfed and a bit like you start all over again.

You need to get this with the orange box.

Please don't take this review with too much weight to it. I've only played the game with this DLC once.

I really liked the idea of this faction being weaker or stronger depending on area or season. I loved the tech that made the grunt-soldier free to upkeep. The design is slightly boring though.

The extra content outside of the faction itself feels like it becomes too much. With the pearls, the winters, the waters and now the northern lights. I just could get myself to care enough about it. The game feels too crammed with stuff to think about with all the DLC:s.

Maybe I'll change my mind as time goes by and maybe this is cooler without some other DLC:s activated but I can't really recommend it even though I'm not recommending against it either.

This is a great DLC that adds an actual purpose to the sea. There are now industries in the water to conquer with bonuses for controlling a whole sea/area. As well as added quests on and in the waters.

The new faction is cool. Except for being the best on the sea they also have the ability to brainwash wandering armies. This I found was a great tool to have if you like me had the worst defence ever but as enemies drew closer I just brainwashed a bunch of NPC:s and defended myself with the blood of others.

Two major flaws is to be found here. The smaller of the two is the fact that the first level of boats aren't good enough to warrant the tech so you do best to only go for the second incarnation of boats. The second one is the fact that the AI absolutely sucks at going for the sea areas unless they play as the new faction. This makes the sea more or less a free area for you to plunder. Which in konsekvens makes the whole game easier.

I love this add on but it sure isn’t perfect.

Two new heroes that look great. Plays as they should. There really isn't much to say. I like the update and they've clearly just put it as a DLC to make people see what they've done rather than it actually needs to be more than an update.

This is a proper DLC for sure. The new winter system is just better and I do like the pearls and its pyramid. The fact that you pray for certain effects for the next winter, competing with other factions prayers is awesome. It also adds another element of progression where you can let the pearls compensate for lack of investing in better weapon tech for example.

The new faction didn't really fall in to my taste but they feel unique and you can probably have loads of fun mastering their shifting power.

This is a great update to the game for a reasonable price. Especially since they have regular sales. Me personally haven't put any time in exploring the lore of the game but for anyone that does this is a must buy. For the rest of us it's just some more variation to the quests.
