The game makers took the in game currency, and even what was the premium currency, where you pay money to get more each month, be worth literally nothing, all the new characters come out only for people who litterally buy them. The game was fun before, but this "pay to look at b00bs'' game is toast in my opinon.

This game is Deceptively addictive. Keeping your "national lampoon: christmas vacation" car functional and upgrading it , the loop is very addictive and fun. one drawback, in some of the later missions, they will take a couple hours to complete, with no opportunity to save. Its fun, but it can get nail biting.

this is one of my new favorites.

I loved the game till they decided to go 'that' direction with the last quest. Great game, but the story has jumped the shark. I play for the Narrative so , if you are like me, Don't bother.

If you want 3d "Transport Tycoon" , this is it. If you like that game, or enjoy chill management sim's, This is a no brainer.

TLDR: Childishly written Narrative, New game +'s are stupid and have little to no impact on game-play experience or story. Worst graphical optimization i've personally ever seen on a shipped game. (the graphics of this game look 2010 at best most of the time, outside of ship interiors) Endings are shallow with little impact, Spaceflight is laughable. Combat is mid at best. This game has PS Plus written all over it.

My opinion on this game soured near the end of my 110+ hours with it, Newest review below my old review.

Initial review for transparency :

If you want a review of the story and game play, please read someone else s review. I'm reviewing this game in a different way.

This game was a hell of a lot of fun, it had good writing in places, bad writing in others. Booring story ideas mixed with brilliant ones. Its a game featuring Starships and multiple planets that scratches 'that itch' for me. (The Mantis mission, so awesome).

I was not a Skyrim fan. I don't typically enjoy fantasy/Medieval games despite enjoying playing D&D with my best friend. I ended up loving Skyrim because of the MODS you could install. That, is what has gotten me very excited for StarField. Not only does it have a setting i Love, but it provides a Lore filled game world, that is set up in such a way that mods will be able to organically expand the game's lore missions and assets.

The game definitely has it's jank. then again It IS 2023, so what game doesn't. It is up to the fans of the game to embrace it, and like with most Bethesda games that aren't live services, end up finishing and improving the game FOR them.

Get this game knowing what your going into. The game is alot of fun if you enjoy RPG's with a story focus. and the promises and miracles that some mod and mod makers can deliver is what is going to make this game

End old review.

This game left me with the same feeling that I get when I watch a NetFlix series. There are Promising, sometimes amazing set-up's for great things through out the first season of the show to pay off in season 2. Just to find there will never be a season two. That is this game. They pushed the engine too hard. A game of this scope was beyond it. Beyond a few stand out examples, most of the writing is amateurish in how shallow it reaches. The game-play is fun and novel at first, but it rapidly gets repetitive and feels almost as though the whole game has been stretched too thin. Flight mechanics are terrible. It does not feel like the space travel was thought out at all. Space is nothing but little "zones" and the only way to get between these zones is a cut sequence. There is no "linear space" you cantn fly from one location to another, you in escence "fast travel" under the guise of an in engine fmv sequence. It feels cheap after a while. Dont waste your time. I genuinely regret wasting 100 hours in this game.

When i play a game like this, I do it for the intellectually stimulating questions the story plays with as much as, if not more than the Gameplay. I LOVE well written narratives. f you want well written stories in a game, Check out Alan Wake 2, or Control. They are different types of games than this for sure. Atleast they don't treat you like you are mentally 2 years old in the dialogue.

To future generations: This, is what a First person shooter is. Graphics are secondary to a good game, and amazing community. I can not recommend this game enough, if you want Game, buy Battle Bit, If you want graphics, I don't know, buy something else.

Pros: It will run on a potato
Cons: Addictive

if you arent running a high end system with at least 12 gb of Dedicated Vram, your going to have issues. The game is Violently unoptimized so much that the game should be called "shader compliation". On a 5800x3d cpu with 32 gb of 3600 cl 14 memory, it took almost 45 minutes to compile the shaders. This game is unforgiving to anything with 8gb vram or less.

Gameplay? Its The last of us part 1. it is what it is. if you love it, you'll still love it, if you hate it, you'll still hate it. Just better graphics, but damn if you dont have high end hardware you'd be better off just emulating the console version. Its not like running those takes nearly as much power.

Did the calls to Boycott this game Detour you? Me neither.

This game is Very different than most games you'll play and has a very unique feel to it. Good English voice acting, Some of the melee combat is a bit weak, but the over all game play is solid. Hopefully the advertised Ray-tracing comes to the game soon. The engine looks like the graphics would be far better with Ray-tracing than the 'fallback" assets for shadows. I haven't beat the game yet, Longer review after i do.
