It's hard to believe, The Book of Yog has been around for three years.

Thankfully, we didn't end up vanishing like some players thought we would. We've managed to keep going—slowly, with lots of bumps along the way. We'll keep doing our best to update the game and support all of you who are still playing.

It's been a long time since I wrote a dev log. After running this game for three years, I've realized something a bit painful—I have to admit, the game just isn't as fun as it used to be...

As one of the game's producers, I was slow to realize the problem. I felt really defeated — like waking up from a long dream. Looking back, the income was flat, my skills didn't shine, and the only thing going up was my hairline — thanks, age.

I'm sorry that the past two years didn't give you a better experience. But life goes on. We'll keep working hard to improve the game. We still believe The Book of Yog can offer a good idle RPG experience. We're working hard to make idle games better, with real heart — not just another so-called 'Anime Legend'.

Here's what we're planning next to make the game better:

1. Making leveling up easier after level 400

After level 400, progress slows down a lot—it's frustrating and makes it hard to enjoy new content. So we're lowering level requirements for stages、adding more main story stages、increasing EXP and crystal rewards 、making leveling faster overall and adding better first-clear rewards for new stages

2. Improving game balance and progression

·We'll reduce the gap between SP heroes and make different builds, reduce the focus on just pure stat builds.

·We'll adjust attribute systems to make growth more logical and fair.

·We'll continue improving Front, Contract, and Equipment systems to make them feel better and more balanced

3. We will continue to update and optimize collection-based gameplay, guided by the principle of never forcing monetization — every player can achieve full collection at a comfortable pace.

Current development plans include:

·More equipment and Blackguards: Current character and team build designs are somewhat rigid. In the future, we aim to expand build diversity and focus on pure gameplay content related to collecting core equipment and team building.

·Pet system: Players will be able to explore the continent to find and capture pets scattered across the land. Pets can be trained, evolved, and taught new skills. There might even be a "World's Greatest Pet Tournament"?

·Enriched Index system: Improved sense of progression in collection, more emotionally rewarding presentation, and richer collection rewards.

·Blackguard "Pal": Assign your Blackguards to work for you — chopping trees, mining, managing and developing your main city. Be sure to respect labor laws and schedule rest time reasonably.

·Fishing: Explore the world and cast your line in various locations.

·Collect rare and valuable catches? Enjoy unique drying-off animations from different characters? Which one are you more interested in?

4. About Season Edition

As we continue to prioritize gameplay depth and replayability, the game will inevitably undergo changes and adjustments.

Change is often a double-edged sword — especially when it comes to balance adjustments.

Without changes, the gameplay may inevitably grow stale; with changes, some players may feel their interests are affected.

To address this, we plan to introduce a Seasonal Mode.

Balance adjustments will be rolled out on a per-season basis, with each season lasting about 3–4 months.

Details of the upcoming adjustments will be shared 1–2 months before a new season begins.

(Adjustments may include system overhauls, design changes, balance tweaks, and skill mechanic updates.)

<New SP Light Type Striker Blackguard> - Radiant Vigil, Theiana

New Banner Added:Light & Dark Arrival

The summon rate for Light & Dark SP Blackguards is the same as in the Sanguine Summon.

-This banner has a separate pity counter, with a guaranteed summon at 120 pulls. Drop rate increases as pulls accumulate, and resets upon obtaining the featured Light & Dark SP Blackguards.

-Light & Dark Blackguards can join all attribute stages in Paradox Sailing.

-Physical growth from Guild Ascension also boosts Light attributes.

-Light & Dark Blackguards have an exclusive Divinity talent system, upgradeable with Divinity Shards.

New Damage Type: Holy

-Holy Damage is affected by Physical Damage bonuses and is reduced by Physical Damage Reduction and Physical Armor.

-Some effects that are triggered by Physical Damage will also be triggered by Holy Damage. (Details will be indicated on the relevant effects.)

- Damage bonuses against specific attributes in Paradox Sailing, Journey Story, and Everwinter Land will also apply to Holy Damage. (Only the highest applicable bonus will be used.)

-When a Light Blackguard uses a Contract Skill that deals Physical Damage, it will be treated as Holy Damage.

<Blacktide Frontline>

Blacktide Frontline is a limited-time trial. During the Event period, The commander has to challenge boss with 4 blackguards with self-decided difficulty

Event Rule

The boss has a specific weakness which appropriate Blackguard can take advantage of

The challenge of all difficulties cost 100 AP

The trial is limited to 180 sec. If whole team faints in battle or exceed the time, challenge fails

If kill the leader within the time limit, commander will win score and drop rewards from boss

The more bonus drops will be given at higher difficulties, massive modification stone will be awarded.

Each difficulty has its own leaderboard and will provide ranking reward（Each leaderboard will have level limit, the rule is similar to Primeval Gate Leaderboard）During this round, there will also be cross-server leaderboard

There is also score for each participation. Bonus rewards and score ranking rewards will be given based on the accumulated score, including modification stone, SS blackguard Shard and precious coin

<Angel Heart–Forgetting>

New tasks related to the Forgetting have been added to Angel Heart. Completing them will grant rewards such as Sanguine Stone, Enhancement Stone Chests, and Blackguard Casting Chest. Players who have already met the requirements will have the tasks auto-completed.

<Progression and Stage Adjustments>

1. Misty Mountains now extends to Stage 1450. First-time clears grant Bound Gold and Sanguine Stone.

2. Greatly increased the AFK EXP efficiency from clearing Normal Exploration Stages and Misty Mountains. (After the adjustment, reaching Stage 1500 is expected to take around 40 days with normal progression.)

3. Unlock conditions for Oblivion Places have been adjusted — clearing Normal Exploration Stages now unlocks Oblivion Places –Howling Snowfield. Level requirements across all Oblivion Places stages have been lowered.

4. Stage 751 of Misty Mountains now unlocks after clearing Oblivion Places – Sealed Land and reaching 10% exploration progress.

5. Unlock condition for Journey Story– Normal Difficulty has been updated: now requires Yggdrasil Level 900, clearing Oblivion Places – Sealed Land, and 10% exploration progress.

<Event & Front Adjustments>

1. New currency added: Bound Gold (functions the same as regular gold, but cannot be traded).

2. Some SS Fragment rewards from events and Everwinter Land have been replaced with Bound Gold, Locking Stones, Rotate Stone, Stones and others.

3. SS and SP Blackguard faction upgrades now require corresponding Yggdrasil Level.

4. Upgrading SP Blackguard factions now grants additional all-stat bonuses.

5. Reset for SP Blackguards will be introduced in a future update.

<Guild Ascension Adjustment>

Due to the changes in leveling speed, Guild Ascension will be adjusted as follows:

1. Guild Ascension now requires reaching Yggdrasil Level 1150 (expected to be reached in about 20 days under normal progression).

2. Ascension skill caps will now scale with Yggdrasil Level. (This change is expected to take effect in the mid-August update. If you wish to retain the original stat bonuses, please avoid resetting your Ascension skill levels lightly.)

-The DMG of Meine's skill Thunderthorn Strike has been increased from 750% to 1800%.

-Removed regular low-grade Blackstone drops

-Advanced Blackstone now requires Yggdrasil Level 1150 (already equipped Blackstone is not affected)

-Fixed a UI display issue in the Exploration Stage interface

-Fixed an affix display issue when reverting Eternal Equipment

-Removed Elemental Penetration requirements from Misty Mountains and Oblivion Places

-Greatly increased SS Blackguard damage in Exploration Stages、Ra's Tower、Misty Mountains (up to floor 751)
