Very interesting auto-battler game based on the DOTA franchise with both single-player and multiplayer content.

I wonder how long it will take for a top down life/farming simulator to inject auto-battling into the game as a form of combat.

Yet another ARPG worth diving into if you're a fan of loot and hack/slash/spell/summon mayhem. Don't let the art style fool you, the gameplay mechanics, crafting and itemization progression present in the game are on par with what you'd come to expect from other ARPGs like Diablo, Grim Dawn, Path of Exile, etc.

So provided you're not in the "Graphics bad, game bad!" mindset, there is plenty of satisfying screen melting action to experience in Chronicon.

Chill and relaxing 3D game structured like a small town farming simulator with a focus on building/construction commissions along with a bit more combat options than you'd usually encounter in the genre. The gifting and friendship/romance aspect is also present (as you'd typically expect in these types of games).

My Time at Portia has a fairly vibrant art style and setting given the lore has the world in a post-apocalypse phase. The game world itself is a fairly nice size allowing the player plenty of space to build and expand their workshop and surrounding land while also leaving room to explore and discover other resource gathering/combat areas.

If you enjoy playing games like Stardew Valley, there's a good chance you'll have a good time in Portia!

Very excellent underground colony survival simulator. The art style is fantastic and crisp along with the UI and animations.

The game mechanics give off strong Rimworld vibes minus the NPC raids. The simulated gas and liquid physics are quite cool and present interesting logistical challenges and possibilities.

If you've ever been curious what it would be like managing a colony of printed clones underground on an alien planet, give this game a try!

Contrary to what the game title will tell you, there is oxygen included in the game underground.

Relatively simple yet quite satisfying rogue-like autobattler/deckbuilder that includes city building mechanics and loot-based gear/resources.

Basically you go around in a "loop" traveling this road where enemies spawn both by default and based on the tiles you apply to the map area (either adjacent to, on, or far from the road) from the cards in your deck. You collect loot in the process that can be equipped on your character to improve their performance as well as collect resources to further develop your settlement after the run. The kicker is that you can only escape with all the resources you collect if you retreat from your camp tile on the road, otherwise you only get to keep 30% (randomly chosen) at the start. This makes for an interesting risk vs. reward decision on when to "extract".

What's interesting is that you can build more than what's in your cards on the map by placing the tiles in a certain configuration (i.e. a big mountain that spawns harpies when you place 3x3 worth of stone/mountain cards). In addition, the configuration can have impacts on the stats/resources you obtain from placing tiles.

I'll end by noting that unlike some games, the title for this one doesn't lie. You are a hero and you are traveling a loop to progress through the game. 11/10 for telling the truth.

This game is just a high IQ screening program designed to identify Alliance scum from World of Warcraft. Only such despicable creatures would play a game titled "Orcs Must Die!".

It's also there to spot individuals like me, who are simply undercover Horde agents sent to collect data on these Alliance criminals.

Great 3rd person tower defense game with a variety of heroes that support various playstyles. Also has the lootsplosion appeal and satisfaction you get from games like Diablo and Borderlands as there are plenty of armor, weapon, and pets to be acquired and used to support your build.

Being able to swap heroes during the setup stage makes for some very interesting trap synergy and allows the player to take advantage of leveling multiple heroes.

There are tons of maps to try and the game supports coop play.

It's also aged well over the years with a new hero being released in 2023!

Only simulator I've played where there is literally an NPC in the game that trolls you. His name is Dennis.

Other than that it's a pretty chill simulator chock full of mini-games and micromanagement. Things can get hectic but there are mechanics you can unlock to alleviate the pressure.

Great game if you want to just turn your brain off and do a little grinding to make money and grow your Gas Station empire while you trick shot garbage bags into the waste bin.

Great base-building factory/automation game that mixes in a little village happiness to deal with.

Excellent chill experience of making your town and unlocking technologies while also completing the objectives on the campaign maps. Airships, boats and trains are a nice touch when it comes to solving logistical problems.

Great city building game that has something in common with Elden Ring.

The amount of effort you spend beating all the bosses in Elden Ring is probably close to the amount of time you will spend facing off against the Traffic monster in Cities: Skylines.
