Great for local co-op, but only about ~10h of content unless you're an achievement hunter.

A classic - and a great WH40K storyline!

Combat is a little clunky and suffers from animation locking, but this is still one of the best Warhammer games ever made.

A fun "4X-lite", good when you want the flavor of a 4X without the multi-hour map time. However, some factions are definitely more powerful than others, and if you play for more than 10+ hours you'll start to notice that there's not much under the hood. Only buy it on sale -- and even then, only if you have some friends to play with.

RNG: The Game

I want to love this game, but it's trying hard to make me hate it.

Pros:
- The overall storyline is great, and the visuals are gorgeous.
- The world feels enormous and diverse, and exploration is a treat.
- The different factions you can join and branching moral choices are a great touch.

Cons:
- Combat and movement are a clunky, infuriating mess.
- No sense of balance at all. Your life as a melee will be endless misery. Ranged characters can breeze through the game.
- Melee in general is somehow even more one-dimensional than Skyrim. Combat is "left click on something until it stops hitting you."
- Hitboxes are awful. If something is an inch above or below you, your giant 2-hander is probably going to pass right through it.
- Mob AI is dumb as rocks, and your companions will spend more time getting stuck on trees or attacking the air than they will connecting blows.
- To make up for the terrible AI, every creature in the game starts shooting fireballs if they can't figure out how to path to you.
- The skill system is bland and feels unfinished.
- Stats are meaningless, other than being a bizarre way to gatekeep gear. You can pick up one of the best swords in the game just outside the starting town, and it'll sit in your inventory until your stats are high enough to use it 40 hours later.
- There's very little incentive to fight anything unless forced to do so by the story. Dozens of hours into the game, you're still one-shottable by most mobs you come across. Also, quests give 800exp, and mobs give 10-50exp. Given that, plus the awful combat, the best play is to just run past everything.

Somewhere underneath the monotonous, clunky gameplay is a great game. If you loved their other flawed titles (Gothic etc), you'll enjoy this one as well. Otherwise, pick up Dragon's Dogma if you need to scratch your openworld/fantasy/rpg itch.

"Repetitive" doesn't even begin to describe this - the gameplay in your 150th hour will be identical to that of your first hour. Tack on some terrible AI, clunky console-port controls, and for the cherry on top, pay-to-win microtransactions. Watch Bruz's cutscenes on youtube and save yourself $60 (or $100 - hah!) dollars.

Clunky, boring gameplay punctuated by brief moments of clunky, boring combat. The wonderful visuals aren't enough to deadlift this game above mediocrity.

One of the best storylines in a game I've ever seen!

A decent stab at a DS-like, but wrapped up in so many crash-to-desktop bugs and other glitches that it's more frustrating than fun. If you're new to the genre, just pick up DS3 or Dragon's Dogma instead.
