I played Destiny 2 back on Battle.net and gave it another chance on Steam. You shouldn't and here is why:

The game features this thing called "The Traveller" which, who'd have guessed, travelled from some place in the universe all the way to earth and ... sacrificed itself. By doing so it gave birth to "The Ghosts" and grants you, a "Guardian" and chosen one, eternal live. It's basically the spherical technologized equivalent of Jesus literally levitating in the sky.
And now you have to fight "The Fallen" non-believers who followed the poor orb through space, because reasons.

Visiting some random places which should have honestly been called "The Deserted", "The Emptiness" or "The Void" just to keep things consistent. Fighting "The Dumb", "The Boring" and "The Forgettable" for "The Crap" and "The Garbage" on repeat. Accompanied by uber heroic music to remind you of the enforced importance of your job defending the invisible remains of mankind against "The Nothing". Powered by weird confusing menus, chaotic questing and controls from the early 2000s.

You find yourself in this cheesy pseudo religious BS that this game is.

Dispensable 2

tl;dr Bungie's writers should join "The Hidden" :/
