the weight mechanic adds another layer of character building to the game, and doesn't necessarily revolve around strength builds. there are ways to work around weight limits and maybe even use them to your advantage via skills or items. set mechanics look like clutter at first, but can actually fundamentally change a run. also, you have a greater chance of running into other pieces of that set when wearing a piece.
i would consider revisiting the game, unlocking a character, or considering the game might not just be for you. this is not an insult when i say this, but it's not poor game design when you can't meet the skill floor for game mechanics.
