Watched friends play this and thought it would be some nitty, gritty combat survival type game that punishes newer players. I was pleasantly surprised, however, when I tried it out myself and found that it can be a lot more leisurely than I had originally given it credit for. While yes there are certainly some aspects that take a bit to learn and figure out how classes can mesh and work together, progress doesn't seem stunted due to it.

Also, as someone who likes to click through on screen tutorials, I do recommend actually reading the ones in this game as my first attempt was abysmal due to ignoring the Inn, which is where you earn most of your gold and can recruit new companions for your mercenary enclave.

Love the artwork, music is nice, story is well written and characters seem to be pretty well flushed out, they all seem to have their own unique personality and quirks. Setup of the story and the MC, as well as the different relationships and endings you can get allow for pretty decent replay-ability.

Only real complaints would be:
1) Some of the names seem a tad silly, but that's more of a personal complaint than anything actually wrong with the game.
2) A few of the skills seem harder to level up than others, which puts a bit of a crunch on getting the skill raised in time for certain events, in this specific example, Bravery, haven't found a way to level it up decently even with help from the wiki.

All-in-all, pretty good game, i'm already a huge fan of "Choices Matter" type games, so this scratches a good itch for me.

So, this game is pretty fun, gets you thinking about what you need to build first and makes you keep everything going together. Only problem i've had with the game is the AI setup for both tasks and item distribution, both are a little wonky. People do things that don't make sense, such as not eating when there is food in the stockpile, and 1 person having 5k fish and nothing else in their house. Other than that, it's pretty good, mods mainly just add aesthetics to the game, not ease of play.
