The new player experience is one of the worst. It took me three attempts to get into the game because of how confusing it is. There is too much lore being pushed on new players and it can feel overwhelming when players are still figuring out the menu. Many things are not explained and the game's jargon makes it difficult to understand a lot of things. In most games, I explore on my own and figure things out as I progress, but in Destiny 2, I am always searching things up on the internet. It took multiple friend groups pushing me to redownload the game before I finally learned the very basics of Destiny 2.

More on the negatives, some of the paid content is quite lacking. I have bought Shadow Keep through Witch Queen as of this writing. For the price, I expected there to be many hours of content but instead, I got a couple of missions and some grinding. One of the quests to advance in Shadow Keep was "Kill 100 Fallen on the Moon" and it was very boring. I expected more story and missions, not the "Patrol in the EDZ"-esque side quests that I got instead. It's a shame because the Moon is quite a beautiful place in the game.

That being said, I am still going to give this game a positive rating.

The game is beyond fun and you'll never run out of things to do. The gunplay is phenomenal and the world is aesthetically pleasing. The game has many play styles and strategies - players can defeat foes with beefed up firearms or opt for swords, bows, or magical fireballs with the snap of a finger. The graphics are amazing and combat is fluid. Missions have puzzles that require keen observations and reasoning skills (and bullets, usually). The itemization and economy is well developed - though reducing the number of currencies would be very welcomed. Raids are challenging and will require you and 5 of your buddies to focus and work together as a team. Overall, it is a fun game once you get over the initial onboarding hurdle.
