Let's start with the negatives and get those out of the way. First, I acknowledge this game was NOT ready for release on day 1. Square Enix does still have some optimization to do here and there. Now, for the positives. Many people didn't enjoy the dialogue, but I found the subtle humor quite funny. Though... it definitely got old after like 5 hours, lol. This is definitely one of the best Fantasy games I've played in a long time. Sure, I wouldn't spend $70 for the current content, but a good $50 would probably cut it. As for the main character. Many people found it hard to relate to Freya, and I was one of those people. However, the way the story is written is you have to give it a chance. This game definitely focuses on character growth through the lore. However, I would've taken some different decisions in the game and allowed for other playstyles, but alas, that's not how the game was intended I guess. As for the combat in the game. It's so fluid, so fun, so aesthetically pleasing. Now... I understand most people aren't running a 6900XT to run this at ultra at 1080p capped at 60FPS, but for those who happen to have an amazing system, it's totally worth it. The only other thing I would suggest is to play this game with an open mind. Sure, it's not completely refined and polished yet, but there's definitely potential in Forspoken. Though... some areas like Nowhere need some changing when it comes to the breakstorms. I could barely see most of the way through without changing my brightness and gamma settings specially for it. This made navigating an already hard area nearly impossible. I had to rely on the positions of enemies I could barely see as well as some of the funky physics with the zip making me fall. However, I definitely liked how much customization there was with difficulty. Being able to change so much in the difficulty definitely makes this game friendly for completionists like myself. I've got 32 or so hours at the time of this review, and I know for sure I'll get more. Will you?
