I have a love and hate relationship with this game.

The main story is shallow and nothing much you can do. Unlikes the previous Fallout series, this game stripped out many RPG elements and "simplify" them, so the plot is very straightforward and removes the ability of role-playing, feels like you are just following one path and can't do anything.
The gameplay is nothing new, they still use the same broken buggy mess engine from Fallout 3 with some additional gameplay mechanics and animations. But in Fallout 4 they added a new building mechanic in the settlements which is fun for me.
The graphics is still good for a 2015 game, really capturing the atmosphere of wasteland. But of course will be better if you are using ENB or graphic mods.
About the DLC, there is only three that I recommend for you to buy, they are Far Harbor, Nuka World, and Automatron. The rest is garbage.
And the last but not least, if you are playing another Bethesda game, especially Elder Scrolls and Fallout series you know Modding the game was mandatory. I recommend getting some basic bug fixes patch, so you can enjoy the game with less game breaking bugs without changing the lore too much. The rest is up to you which mod do you want.

Overall, I give 7.5/10 for the score. Fallout 4 isn't the best game from Fallout franchises, but still a solid game if you are into shooting the bad guys, exploring an open world area, and looting the remains of the great war. pretty good game for wasting time.
