I have over 600 games on my library, I have played countless genres of games from RPG's to Racing and MMO's and none of them have blown me away as much as Stardew Valley has.

I am 600 hours in and I am still discovering new things, it's incredible how there can be so much depth to a game with such simple graphics. The story is designed in such a way that you have to go out and discover it for yourself, make friends with the townsfolk, help rebuild the Community Centre and put your own stamp on not just your own farm but the whole valley. Fishing, Farming, Mining, Foraging, you choose what you want to do. There is no pressure to do one or another or anything at all, you play how you want to play and just have fun.

Stardew Valley has been created by just one person and while he since has had a little help over the years, its been mostly developed solo and the love and care that has gone into it really is noticeable. You will notice there is no DLC for this game aside from the soundtrack, this is because the developer doesn't care for money. The idea is that he makes a really great game that he wants to play, you pay one price and you get all the content. AAA games developers should take a leaf out of Stardew Valleys book and they may learn how to build better communities.
