Early Access Review
My favorite part of WC3 custom map TDs eons ago was building mazes, this game takes that concept and expounds upon it brilliantly. Roguelike elements also cool

Recommended for semi-frequent players, less recommended if this is your main gig. Cities 1 and 2 are not my main games. I play these to relax and be creative, but I've learned enough to be competent at playing them and made some pretty successful projects. I think CS1 with mods is better than vanilla CS2. But as a casual enjoyer, the game is fine. I'm okay with continuing to build on my current CS and city-building knowledge with this game instead of going back to play the first game. The game stutters for me, but only for a few seconds when rendering my save after first booting up, I'm on a 3060TI. Overall net win, and an investment.

If you're wondering about buying this and haven't purchased the base game yet, just get the premium edition for 15% cheaper ($93 instead of $109) on green man gaming. As of September 21, 2023 it's still discounted.

First impressions, this is a fun fighting game. Solid roster, and neat 'teambuilding' with all the Kameos. There are some fundamentals and frame data to be found under all the violence and gore, but priority #1 is to learn the roster and pass the knowledge checks/character gimmicks. Past that, it's fun to play, is visually great, and the single player modes are solid. My only real gripe is that the training mode is not as robust as the one present in SF6.

edit: post-honeymoon phase, it's still good fun with lots of tech and a solid fighting game, but if you have a PS5, buy this on the PS5. Don't play this on PC for now unless you absolutely have to

Hundreds of hours of playing and learning Cities Skylines and Terraria ended up just being training to get me ready to start Dwarf Fortress. Part of me wishes I played earlier, but I'm happy it's here now. 10/10 recommend, 100% worth full price. My only advice is to not hyper-optimize like other city sims, there's a lot more fun to be had being creative and making a story.

There's a real special feeling seeing the characters you grew up with in an MMO come to life in a modern ArcSys fighter years later. Great roster and great online. No issues playing on stick or pad. It's not a perfect game suitable for every single person, but that is okay.

Most fun I've had while playing a video game in a long while - very creative and well designed, humorous to boot
