In the 3 days I've owned this I've played for over 25 hours... and I haven't even started the other factions, let alone Warhammer II for Mortal Empires. Someone send help, it's more addictive than Civ.

Just finished my first run on Ultra-Violence while collecting everything and reading all the lore entries (took about 20 hours), and immediately jumped back in immediately on Nightmare if that tells you enough about the game. DOOM Eternal is fast, ferocious, and unrelenting just like the Slayer himself.

The changes to gameplay (Ammo economy, movement, etc.) that some people have complained about are ALL for the better. The chainsaw will automatically refill one pip over time, as your hint to keep using it to stock up on ammunition. Fast movement along with weapon and mod swapping make for fast paced battles with quick decision making constantly on the higher difficulties. Never have I played a shooter that made me actively use ALL of my weapons, modifications, and abilities to their fullest. This all adds up to make every moment playing exhilarating as your skill level as a player increases.

Battle Mode is a pleasant surprise, much more in depth than expected, and it will definitely eat up a chunk of my time in this post COVID-19 Hellscape.

Of course, let's not forget to mention that Mick Gordon once again has brought his all into the soundtrack for this game. Cannot wait for the release of the album at a later date. For all intents and purposes, Mick's soundtrack is a performance enhancing drug for this game.

If you liked DOOM (2016) for it's combat loop (and awesomeness) and aren't afraid of changes made for the better, buy this game! (If you haven't already.)
