Outer Wilds is one of the best games I have ever played, with the only bad being that I can never really get that first experience back, ever. Though I have learned that sometimes, it is okay for things to end; in fact, it's necessary, because a lot of games make the mistake of dragging on too long. For me, Outer Wilds hit that mark smack-dab in the middle. Even when I was a bit bummed about beating the game, I had realized that I still had the entire DLC to play through, which, by the way, is a WONDERFUL expansion that perfectly fits in with the story, and reignites that feeling of exploration and wonder. There are so many special, important moments in here that I STILL find the hairs on my arm standing up when I hear the music, nearly two years after I have beaten the game. The music's that good.

The game CAN be difficult and yeah, I did get stuck for an annoyingly long period of time on some of the puzzles, but all I had to do was stop fixating on what I thought the answer was, and look at the bigger picture. You will have a few hiccups like that, it's okay. It's a puzzle game. They're all like that. The REAL difficulty of Outer Wilds was, for the first few hours or so, wandering aimlessly because there is no objective given. My curiosity and the promises made by others that this game is essentially a spiritual experience were the only thing driving me forward at first, and I'm so glad that I made that leap to try it out despite not being much of a fan of the puzzle and mystery genres.

Give this game a chance like I did, and as sad as it is to say, enjoy it while it lasts. It's peak.
