A Hat in Time is an indie 3D platformer. You play as "Hat Kid" and collect time pieces, very similar to games like Super Mario Galaxy. It's not a very difficult game by itself but the DLC makes things interesting. (Nyakuza Metro includes multiplayer along with other things!)
You gain different powers with different hats and badges, as well as being able to customize your hat's design with rare coins.
The game is meant be nostalgic of older 3D platformers and succeeds in doing so. Very fun controls, but the level design doesn't start off very great. (Gets better later.)
The artstyle definitely carries the game where the graphics cannot. The music is absolutely astounding, certainly the boss themes, took me by surprise how great it was at many points.
All the characters in this game are voiced, and definitely the most compelling part of the shallow story. If you have friends with the multiplayer DLC, then this is blast. (Certainly with the insane mod support on the workshop.) I would wait for a sale otherwise, unless you are a hardcore 3D platformer fan. This game took me 17 hours to beat without DLC, and 23 for 100% with DLC. Also, memes.
