General Story is a 6/10. Gameplay is the same as the first installment. 8/10. Side Content is bloated, repetitive, and uninteresting, 4/10. The quadruple fake-out at the end, 0/10

This installment of the remake trilogy is plagued with dozens of minigames serving to bloat the game's run time.Every forced minigame throughout the story made me dread the next one. The amount was enough to cause "minigame burnout" before reaching the Golden Saucer. Out of all of the several dozen unique minigames, the only three that did not leave a sour taste in my mouth are Queen's Blood, Chocobo Racing, and Sit-Ups.

Queen's Blood plays like a deck building puzzle game that is accompanied by a tongue-and-cheek story that is self aware of it's absurdity.

Chocobo Racing was, in the end, disappointing by the the removal of capturing and breeding said Chocobos. They opted to instead have the player unlock a unique Chocobo in each zone which, you guessed it, is locked behind a forced stealth minigame. If you played the original and enjoyed that optional system, there is an alternative. You can dress your Chocobo with barding. Each barding changes your Chocobo's racing stats in a similar manner to Mario Kart. It is less involved and less interesting than the breeding system of the original.

You get to watch Tifa do Sit-ups.

If you want to waste away time of your day, play this game.
